These programs start the season with hopes of a County championship.

Baldwin HS Section viii Nassau County class AA

Baldwin is year after year a legitimate candidate to not only win a county championship but get upstate as the Long Island representative. Coach Burton gets his guys to buy in year after year. They share the ball well. At the top of that list is guard Jamir Stewart a smooth guard who can score the ball. Really good shooter from three. The inside is taken up by Jacob Oka he is coming off of a tremendous summer. He established himself has a strong presence inside scoring or defending. Michael Hall is a quick point guard directing the offense. Along with Jamir they have two guards who can handle it or score the ball. Gerald Beaubrun is the glue guy, real strong player. Does the work on the boards. A rim runner who can score the ball on his own as well.

Sewanaka HS Section Viii Nassau County class A

Might be a surprise to some to be mentioned here but they have some talent that seems to be coming of age. Coach Allen continues to put them in situations where they are becoming better players from the experience. Leading the charge is Kamren Denhart coming off of a MVP showing at the Long Island Alzheimer’s classic. Kamren scores the ball. He is quick and deceptive. Has the abity to score in bunches. Tyler Harts gives them a versatile player. Can guard multiple positions. Can play the point with size and create mismatches. J-Den Lloyd had a very good summer. Displayed his athleticism and the ability to score the ball inside. A tenacious rebounder. Has a strong frame and uses it well.

Uniondale Section viii Nassau County class AA

Coach Diana graduated alot of his team from last season. But Tyler Randolph seems to be ready to continue the winning culture that has been at Uniondale for a long time. Tyler can really shoot it. But he also defends and rebounds at a high level. With the talent around him the winning should continue .

Syossett Section viii Nassau County class AA

Coach graduated some of his scoring from last years team. But he brings back Matt Lindeman, a do it all point guard. Matt leads the team on the floor distributing the ball or scoring it. He is a tremendous on the ball defender. Andrew Zhou is coming off a season where he blossomed into a complete player. Outstanding rebounder from the wing position. Was the teams best scorer last season. Has unlimited range . Can guard multiple positions.

Manhasset Section viii Nassau County class A

Coach Bruns has had some successful runs before and this team looks like they can fire on all cylinders. It’s going to be hard enough to stop one player named Liam but on most nights your going to have to stop two of them. Liam Conor was near the top of our list of top players in Nassau. An elite talent. Great instincts and a high skill set. A shot maker. Can take over games with his scoring ability. Liam Buckley will get some good looks from three with opponents keying on Conor. Buckley is an excellent shooter from three. But make no mistakes he can score on his own. Also an excellent rebounder.

Friends Academy Section viii Nassau County class A

They possess a 6”8 big man C J Williams he will be a match up problem for a lot of teams. He is a force in the middle. Can score with either hand inside. Tremendous footwork. A rim protector in the middle. Will be a defensive stopper. Malachi Polson impressed us during the summer tournaments. Extremely strong to the basket. Excellent defender on the ball. Coach Johnson’s team has the potential to surprise teams because they can score the ball but have good defense inside and on the wing.
