Parker Ryan 6'1" | SG | 2024
NC

In front of a nice crowd Minnesota Prep Academy defeated Vertical Academy 98-96 in a fast paced, exciting contest that had fans jumping all over the Target Center.  What players stood out?  Prep Hoops breaks it down now.

Tremayne Parker of Vertical Academy (2023). Parker opened the game with a four jumper barrage that quickly put his team up double figures.  Then in the second half, Parker went on a 30 second binge of three steals, a dunk, a three, and an assist.  His own 7-0 run.  Parker jumped passing lanes and used active hands to record six steals that I recall, and his second half dunk over a 6'8 big ranks with one of the best plays I've ever seen in the Target Center.  His open floor finishes and six three point makes won't be soon forgotten.  A guard with big potential, Parker scored 32 points on 12 of 20 shooting.

Abdul Beyah Abdul Beyah Abdul Beyah 5'9" | PG Vertical Academy | 2022 State NC Jr of Vertical Academy (2022). This 5'9 lead guard is lightning in a bottle.  By the time the defender reacts to his move Beyah has changed directions or lifted into his attempts.  Clean, confident jumper that Beyah hit in streaks in the Target Center.  In the second half fans were ridding him for his size and a couple misses, he then hit a couple more threes and attacks, and made sure those fans were aware.  Had some big time ball reversals into threes as well.  Has five division one offers. Beyah scored 30 points on 11 of 24 shooting that included six threes made.

Khouri Carvey Khouri Carvey Khouri Carvey 6'9" | C Community Christian Academy | 2022 State NC of Vertical Academy (2022). It was all about rebounding for the 6'9 center.  Carvey is a big bodied 2022 from Wilson, North Carolina that rebounded with two strong hands, and did it throughout the contest.  Totaled 14 boards for the game.

Brenden Moss of Minnesota Prep (2022). The Kent State commit is known as a shooter and he lived up to his name.  Moss scored 21 points for the game including a run of four shots to made to start the contest, and another four shots to close the game.  Moss has a pure stroke and tonight it was a pure stroke with range. He went on a run of seven straight misses but let it slip his mind to close the game with clutch scores.

Antwaun Massey Antwaun Massey Antwaun Massey 6'8" | PF Minnesota Prep | 2022 #249 Nation MN of Minnesota Prep (2022).  My appreciation for Massey has everything to do with his potential and activity.  At 6'8 he moves laterally as well as any player his size.  That same lateral ability makes him an outstanding help defender in the paint and the perfect four man to move with guards off a ball screen. Totaled 15 points and six boards.

Tavion Banks of Minnesota Prep (2022).  Banks put together one of the best workman halves I've seen in a long time.  His second chance finishes, floor runs, and drop step halfcourt completions were unmatched as the opposing bigs didn't have the strength to contain some times, and other times weren't quick enough to get to position to defend Banks. Finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds and the majority of it came in the second half.  Scored on 12 of 15 attempts and most of it was at the rim outworking everybody around him.

Gob Gob Gob Gob Gob Gob 6'3" | PG Minnesota Prep | 2022 MN of Minnesota Prep (2022).  The change of direction of this 6'3 lead guard has to be slowed down on film to truly appreciate everything.  The depth of his crossover and the quickness of his feet moving into position for the attack move is rare.  Great lift going at the rim, when Gob adds some strength players won't be able to knock him off balance and he'll be even more dangerous.  Totaled 19 points and six assists for Minnesota Prep plus did a great job pressuring the ball helping MPA's press wreck the gameplan of their opponents.
