<p>This fall the New York Gauchos hosted their Roundball Classic league which creates a platform for New York high school prospects. There have been numerous point guards who have established themselves heading into the winter season. I've highlighted a few prospects to watch this high school season.<br />
<br />
<strong>'25 Tai Turnage</strong>, St. Raymond High School (Main Picture) - We're just scratching the surface of Tai's potential. His dad, Billy Turnage, is the Head Coach at Wings Academy and I strongly believe that experience has played a role in his maturation. He consistently connects on shots from the outside even with minimal space. <br />

<br />
<strong>'22 Max Ragu</strong>s, South Shore - Ragus controls the pace and makes the right reads. He is able to penetrate downhill and that's where his creativity really shows. Max has good touch on his finishes or the ability to drive and kick creating offensive opportunities for teammates.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/IMG-9434-crop-1024x673-1635410807.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1317856" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/IMG-9434-crop-1024x673-1635410807-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a><br />
<br />
'<strong>22</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="1125584" first="Samuel" last="Gibbs"], Stepinac - Sam's high IQ carries over to the basketball court. The southpaw takes care of the ball and understands when to push the pace. He rarely turns it over and competes at a high level.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/IMG-9984-crop-3226x2118-1635411446.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1317865" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/IMG-9984-crop-3226x2118-1635411446-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a><br />
<br />
<strong>'22 Rich Smith</strong>, Scanlan - Rich is a stat sheet stuffer. The way he plays the team will follow, he sets the tempo. Last week his energy and effort allowed Scanlan to beat Christ the King in the playoffs.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/IMG-9349-crop-1024x673-1635410979.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1317858" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/IMG-9349-crop-1024x673-1635410979-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a><br />
<br />
'<strong>22 CJ Riley</strong>, Wings - Riley is a scoring guard who keeps the pressure on defenses. His aggression allows Wings to play fast and seek out early scoring opportunities. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/C17304E0-7A33-4B90-9FE9-33254DD0BDB4-crop-1023x672-1635411099.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1317861" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/C17304E0-7A33-4B90-9FE9-33254DD0BDB4-crop-1023x672-1635411099-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a><br />
<br />
<strong>'24 Johnuel 'Boogie" Fland</strong>, Stepinac - The do it all guard is 1/3 of Stepinac's three-point guard system. He continues to shoot the ball at a high clip and puts the pressure on defenses in transition. He allows plays to develop and execute beyond his years.<br />

<br />
'<strong>23</strong> [player_tooltip player_id="1139340" first="Aaron" last="Goldstein"], Xaverian - Goldstein is a good passer especially out of PNR situations. He consistently shot the three and played well with fellow point guard Supreme Niles.<br />
<br />
<strong>Additional Standouts</strong><br />
'22 Brandon Kendricks, Christ the King<br />
'22 Supreme Niles, Xaverian<br />
'23 [player_tooltip player_id="1047078" first="Alan" last="Garcia"], Pharoah Academy<br />
