Let’s Get Ready V: Defensive Dominance

<p>While Let’s Get Ready V certainly had a lot of offensive firepower, there were a lot of players that showed the ability to dominate on the defensive end of the floor as well. </p> <p>Here are some of those players:</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1300887" first="Byron" last="Brooks"] (2022, Bloomfield Hills)</strong></p> <p>Brooks can D up both in the paint and on the perimeter. He played excellent help defense at Let’s Get Ready V. </p> <p><strong>Malachi DenBraber (2023, Forest Hills Eastern)</strong></p> <p>DenBraber had really good defensive footwork. He read the passing and driving lanes and used his quick feet to cut them off. </p> <p><strong>Cyrus Gray (2024, Hartland)</strong></p> <p>Gray stood out defensively. I liked the way he challenged every shot and closed out on shooters. Gray showed the he could go up and block a shot. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="987279" first="Jayden" last="Hardiman"] (2023, Warren Mott)</strong></p> <p>His blocks weren’t just blocks. They were put the ball in the stands blocks and change the momentum of the game blocks. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1317179" first="Alexandre" last="Magno De Aguiar Alves"] (2024, Harper Creek)</strong></p> <p>This young man brought it on defense. He was all over the court and proved that he was willing to defend from baseline to baseline. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1130946" first="Brennan" last="McKenzie"] (2023, Adrian)</strong></p> <p>McKenzie has been playing some really tough D. It started at the first Flight Hankamp and has now continued through Let’s Get Ready. McKenzie could be developing into a perimeter stopper. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1112297" first="Preston" last="Malpass"] (2024, East Jordan)</strong></p> <p>Malpass has a huge upside, especially on the defensive end. He moves well for his size and contests shots with verticality. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1076025" first="Rex" last="Matuod"] (2023, Rochester)</strong></p> <p>Matuod could be a big plus defender. His feet are super quick, making it very tough to get a step on him when trying to attack off the dribble. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1076045" first="Tyler" last="Robertson"] (2023, Ida)</strong></p> <p>Robinson really showed up on the defensive end. He uses his strong legs to keep a low base and keep his opponent bottled up. <strong style="font-size: 1rem;"> </strong></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 1rem;">[player_tooltip player_id="987644" first="Tyran" last="Thomas"] (2023, Northview)</strong></p> <p>Thomas has expanded his game defensively. He played chest to chest D, pressured ball handlers, and created turnovers. </p> <p><strong>Joshua Turman (2022, Ann Arbor Pioneer)</strong></p> <p>His combination of strength and athleticism made it tough to get a good look on him.
