On October 3rd I attended Gerry Frietas Phhoenix Prep Classic at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.

There was mainly prep teams from AZ, CO, NM and CA mixed in with one junior college team.

40+ college coaches attended the event giving the players a great opportunity to be seen.

Here were some more of the standouts I viewed:

[player_tooltip player_id="1032529" first="Nate" last="Parras"] Bella Vista Prep

A high motored power forward runs the court, rebounds, play above the rim and causes havoc on defense. He rebounds out of area and will block some shots. He makes the catch-3 keeping defenses honest and will score on offensive rebound put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1030345" first="Chase" last="Mayo Harmon"] Phhoenix Prep

He had one of those days where everything seemed to be going well. He hit two game winners for his team in fine fashion. He has good athleticism to get to the cup but his shooting from the 3pt line keeps improving and now it has become his strength.

[player_tooltip player_id="701264" first="Jayden" last="Warren"] Bella Vista Prep

A warrior on both ends of the court is the classic glue guy for any team. His shooting has made huge strides and he is turning into that 3 and D type for the next level. He has long arms and comes with strength to go along with his quickness laterally. When you watch him, he is tenacious and tireless.

Baye Ndongo PF 6’8 2023 Colorado Prep

A big time athletic forward from Senegal. He is an elite rim runner and plays the game with a huge motor for offensive rebound put backs. He defends impressively in space and he is a shot blocker. He rebounds the ball at its highest point with two hands and he can score it from the high post and in.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284846" first="Jason" last="Asemota"] Hillcrest Prep (Pictured)

A highly thought of soph looked and played the part. He is an out of area rebounder who is a very good athlete and a better shooter then what I first thought. He has good hands to catch tough passes in traffic and he can create his own shot. He is a top-rated player around the country.

[player_tooltip player_id="1219860" first="Shawn" last="Simmons"] Hillcrest Prep

A transfer from PA has a lot to like. He is an athletic forward that is a smooth athlete. He plays way above the rim on the break and has freaky quick bounce to dunk the ball. He is a good passer and rips through and can score it in traffic with unusually long strides. His versatility on defense plus his athleticism makes his game go.

[player_tooltip player_id="1225245" first="Malachi" last="Palmer"] Hillcrest Prep

A thick, big bodied strong guard with broad shoulders. He is a natural three level scorer who can shoot the 3 plus moves smartly without the ball. He has some bounce to throw it down on the break and can pull-up from mid-range. He can play on the ball and be successful as well.

Cedric Lath C 6’9 2023 Balboa Prep

A massive post player tries dunking everything. He plays with an elite motor to the point he almost plays too hard. He moves really well in space and gobbles up all rebounds near him. His dunks are rim rattlers with his size and power.
