Prep Hoops Indiana hosted our annual Freshman Showcase on Saturday featuring over 150 of the best prospects in the Class of 2025. This was a great opportunity to see a bunch of guys as they head into their first season of high school basketball. Here, we take a look and evaluate the players that make up Team 13.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297100" first="Owen" last="Souligne"] – 5’10 G – McCutcheon: Souligne is a smaller lead guard that is scrappy and confident. Sees the floor well and is not afraid to attack the basket. Needs to take care of the ball a little bit better but loved the motor he plays with. He finished with 4 pts and 4rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1296979" first="Azavier" last="Robinson"] – 6’1 G – Lawrence North: Robinson is guard that that was easily one of the best players on the entire event. Plain and simple, this guy knows how to score the basket. Scored in every which way you could imagine and showed his elite athleticism with a couple of huge slams. Lawrence North should be thrilled because they are getting a straight up bucket getter. Robinson finished with 33 pts and 8 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297069" first="Justin" last="Kirby"] – 6’1 G – Fishers: Kirby is an athletic guard that is so bouncy. Overall, he is a solid and reliable scorer at all three levels and with his smoothness and consistency, he was easily one of the better finishers I watched. Really to intrigued to see how much improvement his game is going to have these next few years at Fishers because the upside looks high here. Kirby finished with 37 pts and 8 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297062" first="Joaquin" last="Mendez"] – 6’2 G – Marian Catholic: Mendez is a taller guard that plays with a great motor. Defends very hard and can block shots. Had a great shot fake on offense and rebounds the ball well. He finished with 6 pts and 6 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297028" first="Gavin" last="Betten"] – 6’4 P – Manchester: Betten is a bigger, longer post player. Great rebounder and was so aggressive with everything he did. He is a versatile player that can do just a little bit everything on both offense and defense. Really liked what saw early on from Betten here. He finished with 30 pts and 6 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297088" first="Marvin" last="Schindler"] – 5’5 G – South Bend Riley: Schindler is a small lead guard but has a ton of skill. Very good shooter from behind the arc with a quick release. Had a block on defense and does seem to have a high vertical for his size. The smaller size is for sure not a problem at this time and it will be interesting to see how many minutes he will get at the varsity level for South Bend Riley. He finished with 35 pts and 3 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1296968" first="Adrian" last="Smith"] – 5’9 G – Daleville: Smith is a small lead guard that runs the baseline well. Shot selection here was a little suspect as it seemed at times he was forcing it too much. I can see him being that more traditional lead guard long term. He finished with 4pts and 6 rbs

[player_tooltip player_id="1297124" first="Zackary" last="Sharkey"] – 5’11 G – Marian Catholic: Sharkey is a smaller guard with a high vertical. Sees the floor well and showed potential to be a playmaker on both ends. Needs to work on finishing around the rim better as he attacked that area a ton. Sharkey finished with 11 pts and 5 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297029" first="Grady" last="Carpenter"] – 6’2 G –Tipton: Carpenter is a long legged guard that has a little bit of craftiness to his offensive game. Had a nice euro step floated and showed off a beautiful turnaround jumper that was smooth from start to finish. Has a wide frame that he uses well when battling for rebounds. Needs to be a little bit quicker but overall think there is some upside here. He finished with 26 pts and 10 rbs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1306183" first="Nilyn" last="Compton"] – 6’0 G – Southport: Edwards is a athletic guard that has skill and defends. Handles the ball very well and made a few of those flashy passes that led to easy buckets. He was solid on the boards on both ends as well. Needs to work on outside jumper some more. Edwards is an intriguing prospect to watch these next few years. Edwards finished with 18 pts and 6 rbs.
