What prospects boosted their stock with strong performances over the weekend at Top 250? Here I examine a few of the prospect that we feel made leaps in Prep Hoops Illinois Top 250: Scotty B’s Stock Risers!

[player_tooltip player_id="1295608" first="Cam" last="Cleveland"] (Leo – 2022)

Cleveland stepped up in a major way with his play at the camp. He hit a growth spurt since he was younger now checking in at 6’2”. The athletic guard had his jumper flowing draining mid-range shots off the dribble along with a couple of threes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1194776" first="Max" last="Johnson"] (OPRF – 2024)

Johnson caught our attention over the summer and had a strong showing at the camp. Slender and projectable lead guard that can stretch the defense with his shooting. Solid three-point threat that is good finishing around the cup winning off his slippery drives!

[player_tooltip player_id="1113517" first="Maurice" last="Thomas"] (DePaul Prep – 2023)

Really liked what we saw from Thomas who is going to run the show for DePaul Prep the next two seasons. The 6’0” point guard has an excellent feel for pushing the pace and getting in the teeth of the defense with his dribble penetration where he can finish, get fouled, or kick to others. Mid-range jumper was working as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048310" first="George" last="Bellevue"] (Lincoln Way East – 2023)

One of my favorite high-motor four men in the 2023 class. Bellevue is super athletic and uses his bounce to dominate on the glass which he did at the Top 250. Snatches rebounds in traffic with two hands. Runs the floor and is quick to the offensive boards for second chance points.

[player_tooltip player_id="989272" first="Bristol" last="Lewis"] (Geneseo – 2023)

Lewis is a 6’2” combo guard from Geneseo. Crafty guard with good strength. Rebounds well for a guard. Creative in the open floor and showed a quick burst on a baseline take. Capable shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1279766" first="Jayden" last="Watson"] (Brother Rice – 2023)

The 6’6” Brother Rice four man has had our attention for a while and continued to flash intriguing tools over the weekend. Athletic power forward that can block shots and is a good rebounder on both ends. Like his quickness on the interior along with his frame to continue to get stronger and more athletic.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295536" first="Hunter" last="Duncan"] (St. Viator – 2023)

Duncan is a flashy point guard who moved over to Illinois from La Lumiere in Indiana. He is a shifty ball handler that breaks defenders down where he can get in the lane for scores or dish off to his teammates. Fun player to watch!

[player_tooltip player_id="1295481" first="Nathan" last="Fiore"] (Neuqua Valley – 2024)

Fiore has always been listed at 6’3”, but looks taller than that every time we see him. Maybe it is because of his long arms and activity level. Fluid athlete that is extremely active and does the little things.

[player_tooltip player_id="1113520" first="Kevin" last="Anthony"] (Von Steuben – 2023)

Anthony showed flashes of where his game was trending over the summer and he continued that momentum at Top 250. Long and lean post that is explosive around the hoop throwing down several monster dunks. Rebounds well especially on the defensive end.

Nick Schoeder (Metea Valley – 2024)

This 6’4” shooting guard from Metea Valley had a breakout summer with Basketball Paradise and shined against older competition on Sunday. Skilled wing that can get a bucket. Handles well in the open floor and is a skilled passer with range on his shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295497" first="Josh" last="Aniceto"] (Bolingbrook – 2024)

Aniceto is a high level passer that gets others involved. He has the ability to find others with his distributing skills. Pushed the tempo in the transition game setting his running mates up over and over again.

[player_tooltip player_id="1160833" first="Bryce" last="Spiller"] (Edwardsville – 2024)

Spiller moved to Edwardsville from across the river in Missouri for his sophomore year. He has good size at 6’3” with strength and is a quality athlete. Clean looking jumper from three and crisp one dribble pull ups.
