A physical power wing on one of the league’s two best teams, Witty led the Lions to the state tournament last season, scoring efficiently and making an impact on both ends of the floor.

First Team

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962669" first="Adam" last="Witty"], Des Moines Christian: 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 61.3 FG%, 83.3 FT%

Witty led the Lions in scoring last season, shooting an impressive 61.3% from the field in the process. He’s a physical wing who can get to the rim and finish through contact, and he moves well without the ball in his hands. With four starters graduating, a lot will be asked of Witty this year, but he’s capable of leading this team again.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962684" first="Mason" last="Scheve"], Pleasantville: 18.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.2 steals, 40.0 3P%

Pleasantville won just two league games last year, but Scheve was a standout, leading the conference in scoring and doing so at a fairly efficient clip despite being the obvious focus of every opposing game plan. He’s a knockdown shooter off the dribble and the catch, and he plays passing lanes well defensively.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158503" first="Kale" last="Day"], Interstate 35: 16.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals, 1.5 blocks, 48.6 FG%, 39.1 3P%

An active 6-4 forward who runs the floor, finishes around the rim, protects the paint defensively, and can occasionally stretch out and knock down 3-pointers, Day is the leader of a Roadrunners team that should be improved this year. He’s the league’s leading returning rebounder.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1161172" first="Miles" last="Kading"], ACGC: 11.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 steals

A 6-0 lead guard who had a big summer with ACGC, Kading could explode as a scoring threat this year following the graduations of [player_tooltip player_id="1154160" first="Eli" last="Kading"] and Lucas Marsh, who combined to average 25.9 points a game last season.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="784980" first="Chris" last="Schreck"], Van Meter: 13.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.1 steals, 40.7 3P%, 87.2 FT%

A small and quick lead guard, Schreck led the Bulldogs in scoring, assists, and steals last year, and is the leader of a Van Meter team that is likely the best in the conference this season. He’s a good shooter, a pesky on-ball defender, and a good passer.

Second Team

2022 Jace Bedwell, Interstate 35

2022 Hunter Keller, West Central Valley

222 [player_tooltip player_id="1234979" first="Ty" last="Heeren"], Ogden

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1155054" first="Kadyn" last="Severson"], Madrid

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158438" first="Clark" last="Fiala"], Van Meter

Honorable Mentions

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158469" first="Casey" last="Trudo"], Van Meter
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1234976" first="Darrell" last="Matchem"], Earlham
2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1240098" first="Jack" last="Christensen"], Ogden
2022 Lane Snedden, Ogden
2022 Dominic Braet, Earlham
2023 Brody Nardini, Woodward-Granger
2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1240069" first="Aydn" last="Netten"], Van Meter
