Looking forward to next high school season, a handful of teams are fortunate to return quality tandems.

Here are a few of the top tandems to watch in 4A:

Miege: [player_tooltip player_id="891909" first="Christian" last="Bowen-Webb"], 6-foot-2 guard, 2022, and [player_tooltip player_id="787630" first="Taj" last="Manning"], 6-foot-8 forward, 2022 (pictured):

The terrific trio at Miege is dwindling. [player_tooltip player_id="787626" first="Mark" last="Mitchell"] has transferred. Rumor has it that Manning is going elsewhere this fall as well. We’ll keep a close eye on his status, as well as that of Bowen-Webb. Should those two wind up on the court for Miege, they would comprise the top duo in the state. Bowen-Webb is an athletic sharpshooter from the perimeter, and Manning is an elite rim protector and court-running big.

Chapman: [player_tooltip player_id="" first="Trey" last="Adams"], 6-foot-2 forward, 2022, and Camden Liebau, 6-foot-1 guard, 2022:

Adams and Liebau each earned honorable mention in the North Central Kansas League as juniors. Graduations will push the Chapman tandem to the top returners in the league. Adams is an athletic shooter with a quick release and ability to rebound and block shots. Liebau is a versatile multi-sport star with lots of experience.

Chanute: Kam Koester, 6-foot-2 guard, 2022, and Carter Coombs, 5-foot-10 guard, 2024:

Koester is a multi-skill stud who will lead the Blue Comets next season with experience in a variety of sports. He picked up 4A honorable mention last year. He was joined on the South East Kansas League second team by freshman Carter Coombs last year. Coombs is a lights-out shooter who averaged 12.6 points as a rookie.

Wamego: [player_tooltip player_id="1140375" first="Jake" last="Fritz"], 6-foot-2 guard, 2022, and Burk Springer, 5-foot-10 guard, 2022:

Fritz and Springer were both recognized as honorable mention in 4A for their fine guard play in support of stud senior [player_tooltip player_id="730642" first="Tanner" last="Hecht"]. He’s gone, so Fritz and Springer will elevate their game. Fritz is a dangerous shooter, and Springer is a gritty handler and deliverer of the ball. He plays tough defense and compliments his teammates well.
