All-Weekend: Second Team
Who were the best AAU players during the first LIVE period? Read about players that both played exceptionally but also attracted the most college attention. Today, we feature the second quintet by position on our All-Weekend SECOND TEAM. Our state is loaded with great guards, but this team must resemble a team: Guard, Guard, Guard/Wing, Wing, Forward.

Jasen popped onto the scene during his Fastbreak 14u days. He continued to thrive, starting for Cleveland High School consistently the last two seasons. Now, Brooks is entering his pivotal junior season as a physical floor leader with improved outside shooting. The game keeps evolving. In June JB impressed at the BCAT 100 and then earned second-best and Defensive MVP at the PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine. This weekend just past Brooks hit five three-pointers in a single game.

Both Alex and Judah Sault Judah Sault 6'5" | SF Cleveland | 2023 State TN are now on the Tigers. Hyder’s recruitment continues to soar. He will be a high-academic target for Ivy League programs. For instance, Penn is tracking his progress and reaching out semi-consistently. Pacific, North Florida are also in contact. UVA-Wise is a school of interest. Hyder’s list is long, but he needs to convert some “interest”” to offers. Exiting his 16u July with a handful of D1 offers is a great place to be.
G Cannon Hale, Tennessee Edge 17u
Overall State Ranking: NA
Fresh in our faces, Cannon Hale comes to your television screen by way of Gallatin High School. Hale averaged 20.1 points per game over this wonderful weekend with Tony Thompson’s Tennessee Edge squad.
SF Eddie Ricks III, PSB Nashville RISE 16u
Overall State Ranking: NA
The Eddie splash was tremendous in May. Radford agreed and offered him Friday. Eddie Ricks III can shoot it, handle it a touch, and generally looks like a basketball player. The length and skill are a daunting pair.

Team Thad

Overall State Ranking: 7
Following a Marquette offer, the Murfreesboro-based star helped Team Thad destroy Empire handily. Dia scored 11 points in the Saturday matchup. He truly is the best college frontcourt prospect behind Felix, though Handje Tamba is certainly in the conversation too. Dia’s offensive game is significantly more advanced than Handje at this stage though. The shooting touch is not even close, largely because Tamba picked up the game a couple years ago and Malik was shooting at birth. Tennessee expressed early interest. The sky is the limit for the versatile combo forward. Malik Dia Malik Dia 6'9" | PF Ensworth | 2022 State #210 Nation TN continues to hear from Florida, Virginia Tech, Marquette, and Georgia among other HM programs.
