Owen Schneider Owen Schneider 5'10" | PG Prospect | 2022 State IL (Chicago Lockdown)
This point guard knocked in the deep ball at a super high rate over the weekend for Lockdown. Sharp shooter was a consistent scoring presence each time we saw them play with how well he drained the three ball. Quick release that he gets off on his own, off movement, or spotting up.
Trey Pettigrew Trey Pettigrew 6'3" | PG Hillcrest Prep | 2022 State #143 Nation IL (Mac Irvin Fire)
Pettigrew was the best 2022 performer for the Fire over the weekend. Operates with a good pace not too fast and not too slow. Did a nice job getting to the rack for tough layups where he finished through contact for and-1s. Also made several spot up triples. Top senior point guard in the state.
Jeremiah Jones Jeremiah Jones 6'4" | SG Marian Catholic | 2022 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars)
Jones is a prospect that needs more attention on the circuit. Rangy two guard that can defend multiple positions and brings a lot of versatility to the table. He shot it at a good clip from beyond the arc. Three and D wing also mixes in floaters and gets to the line. Low-majors jump in now.
Joseph Fitch Joseph Fitch 6'8" | PF Christian Homeschool Assn. | 2022 IL (Illini Magic)
Maybe the single biggest sleeper in Illinois. This 6’8” power forward is a home school prospect with plus plus athleticism that he displays on both ends of the floor. Offensively he has such an elite second jump put backs on a regular basis. Fluid rim runner that showcased his ability to stretch knocking in mid-range and threes. Major shot blocking presence on the defensive end that has timing. Low-majors should get in here as he could be a STEAL!
Orlando Thomas (Fundamental U)
Thomas had a strong June live period and is primed to do damage in July. Lefty combo guard has a rangy and fluid game. Shot it at a good rate over the weekend from three and plays with a lot of creativity with the rock in his hands as both as scorer and distributor.
Tavari Johnson Tavari Johnson 6'0" | PG Lyons Township | 2022 State #171 Nation IL (Young & Reckless/Authentic Basketball)
The top 10 prospect looked every bit the part on Saturday night against Wisconsin Playground Club. He is an absolute ball screen savant! Makes incredible reads and passes to his teammates putting them in position to hit shots or throw down dunks. What makes him so special is in addition to his passing he drains pull ups from mid-range and three with ease. Changes speeds and can get it the lane for floaters and scoop shots. Priority mid-major target!
Gabe Madej Gabe Madej 6'5" | SF Fenwick | 2022 State IL (Young & Reckless/Authentic Basketball)
Madej was the other Y&R prospect that played well on Saturday night. Tough combo forward from Fenwick who drains spot up threes and off movement. That is his biggest strength along with his grit and rebounding.
Ryan Duncan Ryan Duncan 6'2" | SG Chicago U-High | 2022 State IL (All In Athletics)
Duncan played both on and off the ball for AIA over the weekend. We came away impressed with his shooting from distance which we have known he can do for a while. The eye opening part was he is a more fluid athlete than we thought along with showing passing flair.
Zach Royster (All In Athletics)
Royster was a major factor in AIA’s Sunday morning win. The 6’6” power forward hit spot up threes and dominated on the glass. Was a force in OT for his team capturing the win.
KJ Vasser (All In Athletics)
Vasser is like a running back with ball in his hands as he hit the hole and accelerated to the hoop in the open floor going coast to coast on several occasions. Finished with athleticism at the hoop scoring in bunches for 23 points in the game we saw.
Marcus Overstreet Marcus Overstreet 6'8" | C Whitney Young | 2022 State IL (Illinois Jaguars)
Overstreet is a prospect we really like as a developmental center at the next level. At 6’9” he has long arms and a good frame. Active as an offensive rebounder getting second chance points and put backs. High/low finishes and was overall active on both ends as a rebounder and shot blocker.
Jordan Streeter Jordan Streeter 6'6" | SF Whitney Young | 2022 State IL (Illinois Jaguars)
Athletic two way wing that excels in transition as he threw down an array of monster dunks in their game on Sunday. In the half court also put it on the deck beating his man off the bounce for several scores. Like what he brings as a perimeter defender as well checking both wing spots.
