Top Stock Boosters From Spring
In this article:
The spring travel season is now in the books. Here’s a look at the prospects who helped their cause during the most recent AAU stint…
Jamariea Dalton Jamariea Dalton 6'3" | SG Fond Du Lac | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – Kevon Looney Power 5
Dalton has emerged as a top 10 prospect in the class of 2023. One of the top bucket getters in his class, Dalton has a knack for getting to the rim and has so many different ways he can finish. Still needs to get some consistency/confidence with his outside shot, but Dalton has found the bottom of the net at a decent clip. A terrific athlete who has the ball on a string, Dalton can catch a body at the rim and is one of the best leapers in his class as well.

Learic Davis Learic Davis 6'7" | SF Milwaukee Bradley Tech | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G/W – Wisconsin Playground Club
Davis will be in the top 10 of the rankings by the end of the summer. After his play at Under Armour MDW, it’s clear Davis turned a corner and on the rise. A boom or bust prospect, Davis looks to be a lot more boom as of late. His bottom is a lot higher than I initially forecasted. A 6-foot-7 point wing, Davis has done an exceptional job of making plays for others, defending multiple positions, and controlling the glass. Pair that with his explosive, above the rim ability, Davis has a chance to be a special talent. Texas A&M, Western Illinois, Grambling, and Tennessee State have offered.
Ty Fernholz Ty Fernholz 6'2" | SG Stoughton | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Wisconsin Academy
Wisconsin Academy went through the ringer during the spring and played a lot of high-level games. Fernholz didn’t shrink. The Stoughton standout is gonna be in the top 15 of the next rankings update and think there’s a good case for him to be even higher. A sharpshooter who’s a very instinctive and efficient scorer, Fernholz can heat up like a microwave and stay hot through the course of an entire game.
Devon Fielding Devon Fielding 6'1" | PG La Crosse Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playmakers South Showcase
Have Fielding knocking on the door of the top 50 rankings. Need to see him against some higher level competition and put it all together during his senior season, but Fielding is certainly trending in the right direction. A high-IQ floor general that makes others around him better, Fielding has also shown he can carry a team offensively. Fielding shoots it well from all three levels, is a tough finisher at the rim, and has added some eye-popping above the rim athleticism.

Cal Klesmit Cal Klesmit 6'2" | CG Neenah | 2023 State #235 Nation WI – 2023 – G – Wisconsin Playground Club
Elevated Klesmit to No. 5 in the class of 2023 rankings. He’s also added an offer from Wofford. The Neenah standout has been putting up huge numbers during the travel season. Simply put, he’s a walking bucket. Klesmit has in-the-gym range as a shooter and plays the game with a nasty streak and a killer instinct. After the No. 1 spot in the rankings, think the following 6-7 spots are still up for grabs. Don’t think it’s out of the question that Klesmit could still be going up.
Kon II Knueppel Kon II Knueppel 6'6" | SG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State #15 Nation WI – 2024 – SG – Phenom University
Knueppel played on a loaded Wisconsin Lutheran team during the winter and didn’t get to see him really thrive a lot. This past spring, Knueppel has proven he belongs in the top five of the rankings. Have really loved watching the natural scoring ability he possesses. Knueppel has a pure stroke as a shooter and is also efficient off the dribble in the mid-range. Seems to be more athletic than he looks and impresses with his crafty/wiry play around the rim.
Andre Renta Andre Renta 6'0" | PG Hudson | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playmakers
Classic example of how to handle things when you’re under the radar and not getting the love you probably deserve as a prospect. Put your head down, get back to work, and when you do get in front of the scouts, leave it all on the floor. Renta played his way into the top 50 of the 2022 rankings with his showing at the Battle at the Lakes. Renta has some explosive ability on the ball and a deadly crossover. The 6-foot guard has some of the best blow-by ability in the state and when he’s knocking down his 3’s, becomes very difficult to defend. Think Renta is a high-priority D3 prospect, at least, and should got a long look from scholarship programs as well.
Andrew Verhelst Andrew Verhelst 6'3" | SF Sheboygan Lutheran | 2023 State WI – 2023 – F – Wisconsin Crusaders

Verhelst is knocking on the door of the top 50 rankings. A physical prospect that provides a big energy boost, Verhelst has a lot of value as a prospect. May not always score a ton of points, but contributes across the board and does just about everything well. Verhelst is one of the best slashing forwards in the state. He’s got a football body and just doesn’t feel contact at the rim. He can handle the ball in the open floor, make decisions on the fly, and is an underrated passer from the high post. You also know when Verhelst steps on the floor, he’s going to defend the post, protect the rim, and do all the little things as well.
