KC Classic: 17U SD Attack

<p>Is SD Attack the premier boys AAU program in ND and SD? Can they compete with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and many others? It appears they have! I urge you to get out and watch these exceptional teams. SD Attack has been putting on a show. </p> <p>Comments from <em><strong>Lee Taylor</strong>:</em></p> <p><em>"What a great event for our boys to compete in against elite programs from across the region and country….Our 14s on up had to compete in every game to give ourselves a chance to win. We lost some games down there but we would rather lose by 10 than win by 20 or 30….if that is the case, we are playing in the right tournaments! Our teams were challenged every game against all different styles and only made us better moving forward. The Hy-Vee Arena is a phenomenal facility to play in and the arena was packed with coaches the entire weekend."</em></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>17u boys</strong></span>:</p> <p><em>"Went 4-0 and a great bounce back from 2 weeks earlier when we went 1-4 down in KC. Same strong competition but we just played better and completed games. 2 weeks ago, we were either tied or up/down a basket with 4 minutes to go and didn’t finish games. Was fun to see more consistent high-level play for all 4 games. Beat IA Barnstormer Gold, Team KC, Zone 6 (AZ), and Pure Prep.</em></p> <p><em>"Tanner and Caden will get the most headlines….and once [player_tooltip player_id="682280" first="Lucas" last="Lorenzen"] comes back from injury, he will be in the mix as well. Showed the full arsenal with scoring inside and out….3’s, mid-range, attacked off penetration to the rim, posting up – hook shot, step back, spin, and finished above the rim multiple times! Finds himself finishing games b/c of his ability to defend.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="968152" first="Keshaume" last="Thigh"] (2022) |6-G G| Lower Brule </strong>- Came back from an injury last weekend but wasn’t 100% yet. 6’4 long/athletic wing who can knock down shots and sets up his ability to penetrate and finish at the rim.</p> <p><strong>Jaxen Meyer (2022) |6-4 F| West Lyon (IA) </strong>- back-up post – gives us big minutes off the bench and only at 6’4 but plays much bigger as he is very strong.</p> <p><em>"We can’t wait to get Lucas back…should be cleared for live-action any day now….once he gets the green light, he will add a whole new dimension to our team."</em></p>
