The Undiscovered Showcase is the top event in the state for uncommitted senior prospects. What prospects made the most of the opportunity? Here are the top guards in Undiscovered Showcase: Top Guards!

[player_tooltip player_id="1049585" first="Amarion" last="Savage"] East Aurora 6’0

Strong showing from Savage who looked good in scoring situations. He got in the lane for most of the event making strong finishes and passes to look like a complete PG. Amarion on defense does a good job staying toe to toe with ballhandlers. He got his hand on a few and finished one of the steals with a nice dunk.

Jalen Houston Hyde Park 6’0

After being out of action for a while Jalen did a good job at moving the ball to his team making guys around him better. Houston who can really fill it up on offense was in more of a facilitating role. He can play well off ball screens and make midrange shots all day. Jalen gets after it on defense and Sunday was no different as he swiped a couple steals that led to alley oop passes. Houston is a name coaches had circled coming into the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="921072" first="Gary" last="Clay"] Rich Township. 6’4

Gary is strong, physical, supreme athlete who plays above the rim. He showed all of that and more on Saturday. Clay plays with a continuous motor and pit bull like mentality. He seems to be around the ball at all times during the runs. Gary was seen jumping over guys finishing layups and dunks. His signature play of the day for me was a blocked shot where he sprinted from half court to pin the ball on the backboard.

[player_tooltip player_id="920945" first="Jaehshon" last="Thomas"] Whitney Young. 6’2

Thomas showed why he is a highly talked about class of 21 guard still available. He got it going early hitting some runners in the lane and making stop and pop mid range jumpers. Jaehshon’s handle is on a string and he has good footwork to keep plays alive when he gets in the paint. Thomas scores on all three levels and proved it in the toughest session.

Willie Bradley Jr Sullivan House 6’4

Bradley was a highly rated 8th grade scoring guard who transferred out of state for most of his high school career. At the Undiscovered Showcase he made some smooth pull up threes as defenders played back off him. Willie plays at his own pace usually getting to the bucket with a slick handle and crafty finishes. He can score around the rim but he was often seen getting shots off the bounce from behind the three point arc.

Ramik Spencer Kenwood. 6’3

Ramik is a solid built guard who made a couple long range shots off the dribble. He had a pair of straight line drives to basket. Spencer has awkward release point but can do damage from 15 feet and out.

[player_tooltip player_id="1152912" first="Kier" last="Jordan"] Westinghouse. 5’10

Jordan is a jet quick guard who got to the rim at will. His first step is so quick as he blew past defenders often and finished at the rim with the inside hand on most of his layups. On defense he hounded guys full court and even blocked a couple shots LBJ style. Kier was a fun player to watch at the showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049587" first="Enari" last="Thomas"] Marshall 6’0

Enari is a thick bodied guard who can take hits when attacking the rim. Most of the event he bowled through traffic making plays for himself and teammates. Thomas can score on all 3 levels and is pretty athletic for his size. Most colleges should be contacting him if they need an instant impact guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="1152936" first="Desmond" last="Dunn"] Kenwood 5’11

Dunn is defensive minded PG who came into the showcase with some notoriety from fall league action. Desmond had a noticeable back injury that kept him from going 100% but his mentality was still set to come and compete. Dunn made a few layups in transition and got a couple steals before he eventually had to sit out. Desmond is a guard who has improved his shot making and passing IQ. He already has ability to guard 94 feet for full games and any school looking for a defensive dog will be reaching out to him.

Michael Erbeck Homeschool 6’0

Erbeck caught the attention of most of the coaches with his long-range bombs he made consistently throughout the showcase. Michael is a solid ball handler and showed the occasional drive to the rim but his main strong point is his shot making and schools looking for a specialist Erebeck is your guy.

[player_tooltip player_id="1105731" first="J’Laun" last="Patterson"] Belleville West. 6’3

Patterson is another one who can be slot in a guard or forward spot. He didn’t have issues on defense guarding either backcourt position. Patterson biggest contribution was straight lined drive rim rocking jams that had to whole gym eyes opened. He continued to make athletic plays at the rim scoring through contact. A solid pick up for a school looking for a kid who can cover ground on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id="921003" first="Michael" last="Ousley"] Springfield Lanphier 6’0

Ousley looked good in the first game. Smooth guard with tight handles who made a lot of plays look effortless. Solid basketball IQ

Kameron Williams DRW

Williams was another sleeper player that garnered a lot of attention in the first session. He showed he was a three tier scorer with good ball savvy. Kameron beat defenders with dribble penetration for an array of layups as he has good hang time while finishing plays. Williams made several flashy passes that hit teammates in the right spot for scoring opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id="921004" first="Terrance" last="Moncrief"] Joliet West 6’1

Bouncy guard who sees the floor often in the open court. Terrance has the ball on a string and makes all his moves attacking at the rim. Off the ball he made several shots from inside and outside the 3-point line. As a decent athlete Moncrief challenged a couple of shots at the hoop for a smaller guard. Definitely showed how fearless he is when playing defense.
