A lot of great players have been added to the list with many more to come for the remainder of their time as prep basketball players. Most of these players come from smaller schools where there are more opportunities to play at the varsity level right away, but a couple of players from bigger schools have also been able to carve out a role on their teams while attempting to secure minutes for the remainder of their careers. Overall, I have already been very impressed with the skills and abilities displayed by a lot of these players and I cannot wait to see where they end up by the time they graduate.
In a couple of upcoming articles, the class of 2024 will be displayed with a run down of each new player that has been added to the rankings (which means a rundown of every player on the list since this is a brand new ranking class) as well as a look at a couple of the top players who have proven themselves worthy of spending some time at the top of the rankings. The class of 2024 already has a lot of excellent talent on the court and this group already knows how to adjust and push through adversity as their first season of high school basketball was played during the rather unique 2020-21 season.
Over time as more and more players from the class of 2024 begin to receive their shot at playing time, they hit a growth spurt, or they simply make major improvements in their games, the rankings will be updated accordingly to reflect these adjustments. Four years of high school basketball can feel both long and short in some senses, however, there is always time for these athletes to make improvements in their game and shine thanks to a lot of hard work behind the scenes. I speak from experience in saying that the rankings are a great tool and reflect well on who has the most skill, but I ask each player to attempt and prove me wrong while showing why they deserve to be one of the best players in the state for their class.
