NTBA Ballin at the Beach: 2023 Top Performers

<p>The 2023 Palmetto State looks to be a solid class with the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="865317" first="<strong>Greg" last="Jackson</strong>"], [player_tooltip player_id="865307" first="<strong>Brandon" last="Gardner</strong>"] and [player_tooltip player_id="865293" first="<strong>Jordan" last="Butler</strong>"] just to name a few. Prep Hoops took in a few days of actions at the NTBA Ballin at the Beach this past weekend. Which players from the 2023 Palmetto State Class stood out in performance ? Bailes has no shortage of confidence shooting the ball from downtown. Bailes scored 22 points and connected on 6 three pointers according to my stats. Salter plays on the defensive line on Friday nights for the Yellow Jackets. Salter has a nice set of soft hands and brings a thick frame to the table. Salter has no problem pounding on defenders down in the paint and at times could play a bit more aggressive. Salter has a decent touch from the foul line. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1173491" first="DeMariel" last="Smith"] - Blacksburg HS - 4K Hoops (pictured on front)</strong></p> <p>Smith a rangy left-handed guard really sees the floor very well. Smith was a bit passive at times with his shot and extremely active in the passing lanes picking up several deflections along the way. Smith is a pass first guard who excels in the open court. Campbell did everything right today except he forgot to bring his jersey to the game. Campbell played within 10 feet from the basket all day long and was quite effective. Campbell rebounded the ball on both ends even hit a few short corner jumpers. Campbell ran the floor well beating defenders down the floor. Campbell is best suited playing near the basket and being a RIM RUNNER. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="948066" first="Jamarious" last="Woodbury"] - Conway HS - Ascend Ballers </strong></p> <p>Woodbury was finishing at the rim with his ability to slash to the cup today. Dates connected on some three pointers today in a lopsided win for the Charleston based team. Dates has a quick shot release and very productive with his shot selection today. Dates used the bounce pass quite effective today to find players in transition. Dates averaged 5.1 ppg for the Gators (12-1) this season. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
