A number of great players were key contributors for their teams during this past season and will look to continue making big contributions throughout the next three seasons. Though young, these players are highly skilled and a couple of them have already identified weak areas in their respective games that they are looking to master during the offseason to come back even bigger and stronger. Continue reading for a look at the top stock risers from the class of 2024 initial ranking.
Kase Wynott Kase Wynott 6'6" | SF Lapwai | 2024 State ID , Lapwai: Kase was one of the biggest contributors during Lapwai’s state championship year in 2020-21 as only a freshman. Kase has a great handle on his game already and can score at all levels. His jump shot from outside is already deadly and he can also beat his defender off of the dribble or stop and pop for a pull-up mid range jumper. His versatility at such a young age is a dangerous combination and he is a really tough cover. Watch for Wynott to cement his position as one of the top players from the class of 2024.
Gatlin Bair Gatlin Bair 6'2" | CG Burley | 2024 State ID , Kimberly: Gatlin is one of the few freshmen in state history to have received conference player of the year honors in his first season of high school basketball. Bair already has a really solid jumper from outside and can score against anyone. In the post, he has great footwork and can score at will. On defense, he is a tough rim protector who had a ton of double-doubles as a freshmen. Bair could be one of the best players in the state by the time he graduates.
JJ Funk JJ Funk 6'7" | PF Skyline Prep | 2024 State AZ , Canyon Ridge: Funk hit an early growth spurt and has already turned into a dominant post at Canyon Ridge. His footwork is impressive and he uses his size and strength well to bully his defenders. He can score using either hand and is already working on extending his range to the three point line. Look for Funk to be the main man at Canyon Ridge in only a few short seasons as he continues to climb the rankings.
