The AA semis in Rapid City are set. Three from Sioux Falls plus Yankton. Who stood out in the quarters? Five Best lets you know.

[player_tooltip player_id="975543" first="Zane" last="Alm"] of Mitchell (6’10 Sr Center). I thought yesterday’s game showed why [player_tooltip player_id="975543" first="Zane" last="Alm"] could someday be a professional (overseas or wherever). His numbers were 12 points (5 of 9), six boards, four blocks, and a bag full of deflections. The way Alm covers ground laterally getting to his help, moving on the ball screen, and getting a hand up to contest is special. When Alm adds some more core strength and gets more comfortable with his post footwork he’s going to be even better. Defensively Alm is a nightmare to deal with and played a part in the Mors 4 of 14 shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id="757825" first="Tyler" last="Feldkamp"] of SF Roosevelt (6’0 Sr Guard). The Brandon Valley defense was spread far too thin leading to a 64-47 Roosevelt win. The Roughriders had balance and the guy who took advantage the most was [player_tooltip player_id="757825" first="Tyler" last="Feldkamp"]. That speed that will be in a SDSU football uniform was used going at the rim to score five times in 24 minutes plus he hit twp tjrees.

Dylan Prouty of Yankton (5’11 Jr SG). The highlights will show [player_tooltip player_id="732175" first="Matthew" last="Mors"] late game jumper and charge take that sent [player_tooltip player_id="812199" first="Caden" last="Hinker"] to the bench but Yankton’s state title hopes are gone if Prouty didn’t have the game that all hoopers dream of: a hot shooting game in the state tournament. Prouty was "run and find the extinguisher" hot hitting seven threes and scoring 25. Speaking of fire, the Mitchell defense looked like they were doing an unorganized fire drill scrambling to try and locate Prouty.

[player_tooltip player_id="968154" first="Joe" last="Uttecht"] of Washington (5’11 Jr Guard). When they say a different player steps up for Washington every game, they mean it. Uttecht isn’t usually the go-to guy for scores but in round one he led his team with 14 points. Four threes in four attempts gave his team an edge and then [player_tooltip player_id="734065" first="Eli" last="Williams"] took his team home with game winning offensive, and defensive play.

[player_tooltip player_id="968162" first="Alec" last="Voegele"] of Aberdeen Christian (6’5 Jr Forward). Washington won but the best player on the floor in the AC/SFW game was [player_tooltip player_id="968162" first="Alec" last="Voegele"]. He was the game’s most impossible player to block-out, he was the most secure rebounder (had 13) and Alec was the best finisher around the basket (scoring 17).
