FIRST TEAM

Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id="727862" first="Tucker" last="DeVries"], Waukee (2021)
Stats: 18.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals, 52.9 FG%, 43.7 3P%, 74.6 FT%

The recently named Mr. Basketball was fantastic for the Warriors, helping lead them to the 4A title and stuffing the stat sheet along the way. One of the best tough shotmakers we’ve seen in our time at PHIA, the 6-7 lead guard has limitless range, a smooth and effortless stroke, and the length to be a versatile defender. He’ll play his college ball for his dad at Drake.

[player_tooltip player_id="682266" first="Josh" last="Dix"], Council Bluffs Lincoln (2022)
Stats: 19.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.5 steals, 1.3 blocks, 54.5 FG%, 37.8 3P%, 73.3 FT%

The 6-5 junior wing holds a handful of mid-major offers, and he should see that list explode this summer. He has an outstanding feel for the game, knowing when to get others involved and when he needs to take over. He’s an efficient scorer from all three levels with a smooth stroke, and he’s a long and versatile defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="727863" first="Payton" last="Sandfort"], Waukee (2021)
Stats: 16.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 steals, 56.2 FG%, 45.8 3P%, 95.7 FT%

A remarkably efficient, 6-7 wing, Sandfort is much like DeVries in the fact that he has an effortless stroke and limitless range. A versatile defender with great length and one of the purest shots we’ve seen in our time at PHIA, Sandfort missed just two free throws this season. He’ll play his college ball for Fran McCaffery at Iowa.

[player_tooltip player_id="796127" first="Landon" last="Wolf"], Cedar Falls (2021)
Stats: 16.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 46.4 FG%, 46.4 3P%, 87.8 FT%

Wolf, who is headed to play his college ball down the street at Northern Iowa, led 4A with 77 made 3-pointers and did so at a highly efficient 46.4% clip. The 6-4 wing moves well off the ball and has a quick release with extended range, and he has worked hard to improve his all-around scoring skill set, improving his ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the bucket.

[player_tooltip player_id="796097" first="Michael" last="Duax"], Hempstead (2021)
Stats: 21.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.9 steals, 58.2 FG%, 72.8 FT%

A big, athletic wing with great length, Duax shot over 58% from the floor for the Mustangs, using his strength, athleticism, and skill to power his way to the rim for easy, efficient looks. He’s a good defender and passer who is headed to play his college ball at Northern Iowa.

SECOND TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id="682279" first="Tamin" last="Lipsey"], Ames (2022)
Stats: 16.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.8 steals, 51.6 FG%, 37.9 3P%, 70.4 FT%

It was just good to see Lipsey back on the hardwood after he missed his entire sophomore season with a torn ACL. The dynamic lead guard impacts the game at a high-level on both ends of the floor with his physicality and quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id="956447" first="Omaha" last="Biliew"], Waukee (2023)
Stats: 10.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 3.1 blocks, 64.3 FG%, 38.1 3P%, 73.3 FT%

A top-five prospect nationally in the 2023 class, Biliew did an outstanding job buying into what Waukee needed from him this year - timely, efficient offense, lock-down perimeter defense on switches, and fantastic rim protection on the back end of the defense. He provided all of that and more for the Warriors, and he showcased how versatile his offensive game can be at the state tournament, which may have been his coming-out party.

[player_tooltip player_id="796103" first="Ryan" last="Riggs"], Dowling Catholic (2021)
Stats: 14.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 blocks, 65.0 FG%

The highly efficient 6-8 forward was a consistent producer for the Maroons this year, shooting 65% from the floor and leading the team in scoring and rebounding. He’s got great size and length, and he’s a mobile big man who runs the floor well and establishes good early position.

[player_tooltip player_id="682265" first="Trey" last="Campbell"], Cedar Falls (2022)
Stats: 13.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.5 steals, 53.5 FG%, 38.6 3P%, 76.9 FT%

Campbell is a 6-4 lead guard who is among the quickest players in the state with the ball in his hands. He showcased a much-improved perimeter stroke and excellent playmaking ability, finishing sixth in 4A in total assists this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="796132" first="Ty" last="Walker"], Valley (2021)
Stats: 18.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 46.2 FG%, 42.6 3P%, 89.8 FT%

Walker stepped up in a major way this year for the Tigers, leading the team in scoring and doing so at a highly efficient clip. He emerged as the team’s go-to scorer and he made big bucket after big bucket for this group all year long.

THIRD TEAM

[player_tooltip player_id="1056594" first="DaVares" last="Whitaker"], Sioux City East (2022)

[player_tooltip player_id="796161" first="Amar" last="Kuljuhovic"], Waterloo West (2021)
Stats: 16.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 52.8 FG%

[player_tooltip player_id="796107" first="Reid" last="Grant"], Johnston (2021)
Stats: 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 49.0 FG%, 47.1 3P%, 70.0 FT%
