It’s been a difficult season, one that included the cancelation of the high school season, tons of players coming and going, and an overall lack of playing opportunities. Despite that and thanks to yeomen efforts from coaches, I’ve been fortunate to see a ton of players and learn some new names. In this article, we take a look at some of the fresh faces on the list.
Kemion Smith 6’3 PF Sierra Vista #29 – Smith should have been somewhere on earlier list, but he’s here now. The undersized 4 man scores in transition and down low and plays on the UAA circuit for the Punishers.
Myron Hubbard Myron Hubbard 6'3" | SG NV 6’3 SG Centennial #30 – Hubbard is a player I recently begin watching. He’s a smooth scorer that likes to get out and run. He probably would have seen time on a young Centennial squad, and has an opportunity to make some noise playing with the Addidas sponsored Knicks program.
Kollin Ngo Kollin Ngo 6'2" | CG Silverado | 2023 State NV 5’10 CG Boulder City #34 – Got a chance to watch him play back in December and he has some potential. He’s a transition scorer that has some wiggle to his game. He’ll get a chance to play for one of the top coaches in the State at BC.
Dylan Cooks Dylan Cooks 5'10" | CG Arbor View | 2023 State NV 5’10 CG Arbor View #35 (featured image) – Cooks is a player to keep an eye out for. He has blinding speed, and the ability to get to the basket and score. As he clamps down more on the defensive end, look for him to become one of the top two-way guys in his class.
Wyatt Jaeck Wyatt Jaeck 6'7" | PF Arbor View | 2023 State NV 6’7 PG Arbor View #36 – Need to see more of Jaeck, but he definitely has the look. Good frame for the young player, he can play both forward spots, but seems to be more productive when playing the 4.
Amarion Brown Amarion Brown 5'10" | PG Desert Oasis | 2023 State NV 5’10 PG Sierra Vista #40 – Brown is one of a few young players that should make an impact at SV. Has a solid handle, a good IQ, and finds ways to score in transition.
