Seniors Finish in Style:
Bryson Bishop Bryson Bishop 6'0" | PG Spartanburg Christian | 2021 State SC , Sam Wheeler Sam Wheeler 6'5" | PF Spartanburg Christian | 2021 State SC and JP Duke JP Duke 6'4" | SG Spartanburg Christian | 2021 State SC all finished in style for the Warriors. Bishop who will attend Charleston Southern University next season took home SCISA Class 2A Player of the Year honors. Bishop finished his career with over 1,650 career points. Bishop was on fire all day long scoring 23 points in the win. Bishop converted behind the 3-point line and the foul line.
Wheeler played in his 3rd straight state championship game today. Back in 2019 Wheeler then a sophomore was at Shannon Forest Christian Academy and lost to Hilton Head Prep in the championship game. Wheeler finished with 12 points today and was active on both ends of the floor. Wheeler finished with a few dunks today and swatted a few shots away in the paint.
Duke managed just 5 points but was active in the passing lanes and was able to provide some heady passes today in the Warriors victory.
Unsung Hero:
William Thomas William Thomas 6'6" | C Spartanburg Christian Academy | 2022 State SC came up big today for the Spartanburg Christian Warriors in the win. Thomas finished around the cup with a soft jump-hook or a left-hand finish. Thomas really worked for position in the paint and wasn’t afraid to play the game on contact. Thomas finished with 11 points in the win.
Dillon Christian Debut:
Head Coach Bo Stone has made Dillon Christian a school to watch moving forward. The Warriors playing in its 1st state championship game made it to the Final 4 last season. The Warriors finished the season this year at (21-4).
Warriors Return Plenty:
Greyson Singletary Greyson Singletary 6'1" | SG Dillon Christian | 2023 State SC , Cameron Sweat Cameron Sweat 6'4" | SF Dillon Christian | 2022 NC , Ethan Brewington Ethan Brewington 5'8" | SG Dillon Christian | 2022 NC and Colby Thorndike will all be back next season for Dillon Christian. Singletary a All-Tourney performer is just a sophomore. Singletary a off guard plays the game with a lot of passion and grit.
Sweat a rangy forward and Brewington a undersized shooting guard saw plenty of playing time this season. Thorndike a East Carolina University baseball commit brings toughness and some attitude to the hardwood.
