Aminu Mohammed Aminu Mohammed 6'5" | SG Greenwood Lab | 2021 State #19 Nation MO 6’5″ Greenwood: After a pair of tough losses to Kickapoo and Hartville over the weekend, the Georgetown recruit erupted for 37 points and 11 rebounds in a 68-62 victory at Park Hill, which is one of the top teams in the Kansas City area. He was in attack mode from the opening tip as he scored 18 points in the first half to keep his team in contention. He was able to knock down some perimeter jumpers to loosen the defense up for his drive game. His rebounding and shot blocking was also on point.
Nyk Bryant 6’1″ Park Hill: The athletic 2021 guard scored a team-high 20 points against Greenwood on Monday. He plays a much bigger game than his 6’1″ height with his aggressive play and explosive leaping ability. He attacked the basket and was able to elevate over the much bigger Greenwood defenders inside. He was also able to mix in some mid-range jumpers to compliment the drive game.
Luke Jordan 6’0″ Lee’s Summit West: The 2021 guard has been enjoying an excellent senior year and that continued during Monday’s victory over Ruskin in the first round of the Summit Grill Tournament with a game high 26 points. He is a very reliable 3-point shooter who can also handle the ball and make good decisions. His impact was also felt on the defensive end as he was able to dart into the passing lanes for steals and convert them into transition layups. He has really stepped up this season.
Vic Naboya 6’8″ Greenwood: The power forward came off the bench and made a big impact in Greenwood’s 68-62 victory over Park Hill. He came in and took control of the action in the paint with 10 points, three dunks and a couple of block shots. He was very active on the boards and he had some impressive rim-runs. He found the right balance of playing aggressive inside without fouling.
De’Waun Norton 6’5″ Kansas City Central: I have been very impressed with the play of this combo forward the past couple of times that I watched him. Didn’t notice him at first, but he comes on strong with his ability to score and rebound inside while playing with a lot of activity. He can also put it on the floor and score on a nice take to the basket. He had a very productive outing in the Blue Eagles victory over Rock Bridge in the first round of the Summit Grill Shootout.
Omarion Henry 6’7″ Normandy: The 2021 forward and his Viking teammates were just cleared to play a couple of weeks ago and he had made up for lost time. He displayed his overall skill set and athleticism against SLUH in a MLK Day game on Monday. He is very fluid in moving up and down the court with the ball and he can be explosive around the rim. His perimeter shooting has improved as he showed an effective mid-range jumper off the bounce.
