<p>The Missouri State High School Activities Association just came out with its class and district assignments on Friday, Dec. 11. For the first time, the state has added a sixth class for postseason competition. Prep Hoops Missouri held off on listing our players and teams to watch until the new assignments came out. Now, that they are here, we first take a look at the Class 6 teams to watch.</p>
<p>Blue Springs: The Wildcats are dominated with talented 2022s with 6’6" guard [player_tooltip player_id="984508" first="Braden" last="Appelhans"], 6’5" football standout [player_tooltip player_id="984511" first="Ike" last="Ezeogu"], 6’3" guard Mike Harrison and 5’8" guard [player_tooltip player_id="985428" first="Kyle" last="Bruce"]. The top 2021 is 6’8" forward [player_tooltip player_id="824200" first="Eli" last="Wingert"].</p>
<p>Chaminade: The Red Devis return its 2022 dynamic duo of 6’10" forward Tarris Reed, Jr. and 6’3" guard [player_tooltip player_id="984503" first="Damien" last="Mayo"]. Stepping into key roles are 6’2" 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="985419" first="Nate" last="Straughter"], 6’0" 2023 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1070086" first="B.J." last="Ward"] and 6’7" 2022 Filip Sinobad.</p>
<p>CBC: The Cadets have an excellent group of perimeter players with 5’9" 2022 point guard Robert Martin, 6’5" 2022 wings Larry Hughes, Jr and [player_tooltip player_id="985417" first="Mikhail" last="Abdul-Hamid"] as well as 6’4" 2021 Illinois football recruit [player_tooltip player_id="994449" first="Chevy" last="Brenson"].</p>
<p>Francis Howell: The Vikings are building around it’s Big Three of 6’10" 2021 center [player_tooltip player_id="583715" first="Sam" last="Thompson"] and 2021 guards [player_tooltip player_id="824188" first="Sam" last="Maddox"] and [player_tooltip player_id="824209" first="Preston" last="Fortner"].</p>
<p>Hazelwood Central: The Hawks are still yet to take the court, but they will have a talented crew with 6’7" 2021 Western Illinois recruit [player_tooltip player_id="824130" first="Jonathan" last="Dunn"] along with 5’9" 2022 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="985430" first="Tevin" last="Gowins"] and 2021 wings [player_tooltip player_id="824148" first="Caleb" last="Jones"] and Kai Graham.</p>
<p>Jackson: A fixture in the SEMO area, the Indians have a strong frontcourt duo in 6’6" 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="984947" first="Nick" last="Wasilewski"] and 6’8" 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1070095" first="Clayton" last="Ernst"] along with 6’2" 2022 Quinn Scott and 6’3" 2022 Elliott Cowell on the perimeter.</p>
<p>Kickapoo: The Chiefs have arguably the most talented team in the state with its four Division I players in 6’1 Missouri recruit [player_tooltip player_id="583709" first="Anton" last="Brookshire"], 6’1" Missouri State recruit [player_tooltip player_id="824115" first="Isaac" last="Haney"], 6’8" Missouri recruit [player_tooltip player_id="994435" first="Trevon" last="Brazile"] and 6’2" guard Cam Liggins, who has Division I offers.</p>
<p>Liberty: The Blue Jays have a well-balanced unit with 6’5" 2022 Bennett Stirtz, 6’2" 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="824152" first="Javion" last="Byers"], 6’3" 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1050176" first="Luke" last="Stubbs"], 6’6" 2021 Kellen Goodwin and 6’2" 2021 Javin Shaw. All five are viable scoring threats.</p>
<p>Nixa: The Eagles are talented across the board. Their backcourt features 6’3" 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="985424" first="Colin" last="Ruffin"], 5’11" 2021 T.J. Sorgenfrei, 6’2 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="824147" first="Kaleb" last="Wofford"] and 6’3’ 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1070087" first="Kael" last="Combs"]. Up front, they have 6’6" 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="824191" first="Jason" last="Jones"], 6’4" 2022 Jarret Nelson and 6’7" 2022 Colten Berry.</p>
<p>Park Hill: The Vikings are talented and athletic with 6’4" 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="984361" first="Anthony" last="Hall"], 6’1" 2021 Nyk Bryant, 6’3" 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="824161" first="Christian" last="Bradford"], 2021 Andy Ashley and 6’2" 2023 Marqueas Bell.</p>
<p>Rock Bridge: The Bruins qualified for the Class 5 state quarterfinals a year ago. The bring back on of the state’s top point guards in 5’10" 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="824128" first="Xavier" last="Sykes"].</p>
<p>Staley: A Class 5 Final Four team from a year ago, Staley has another strong group with 6’1" 2023 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1070094" first="Kyan" last="Evans"], 6’6" 2021 forward [player_tooltip player_id="824197" first="Jamaal" last="Davis"], 6’2" 2021 guard Kendrick Stone and 6’6" 2023 forward Hayden Fish back in the fold.<br />
