<p>The AZ Compass Dragons headed to the Southeastern part of the United States to play in Columbia, SC this weekend. Prep Hoops South Carolina was in the building to watch the Dragons take on a few Palmetto State schools. The Dragons attended The Bash in Columbia, SC and walked away with a (2-0) record this weekend. </p>
<p>The Dragons opened the event with a win over 4-time straight Class 5A State Champion Dorman HS. The Dragons defeated the Cavaliers 59-37. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="703792" first="Tyrone" last="Washington"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="874188" first="Javon" last="Small"] </strong>led the way with 13 points apiece while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="799296" first="Glenn" last="Taylor"]</strong> added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the win. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="775540" first="Alden" last="Applewhite"]</strong> didn’t make the trip this weekend. </p>
<p>The Dragons came back on Saturday and defeated Ridge View HS 69-48. The Dragons had balance scoring all weekend long with 4 players scoring in double digits. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1032938" first="AJ" last="Storr"]</strong> (2022) and Washington both scored 14 points. Small and Taylor both chipped in with 13 points in the win over the Blazers. Storr recently arrived from Las Vegas, NV where he was attending Bishop Gorman HS. </p>

<p>Small originally from Indianapolis, IN attended Franklin Central HS last season. Small is a absolute true point guard with a thick frame. Small can get the ball into the lane and penetrate the gaps very well. Small was able to change speeds and utilize the floater in the lane a few times here today. </p>

<p>Washington a Creighton commit was solid all weekend long for the Dragons. </p>

<p>Taylor arrived at AZ Compass from Cheyenne HS (NV). Taylor is a great pick and roll guy with excellent athleticism. Taylor runs the floor very well for the Dragons. Taylor is a very versatile and does a bit of everything on the floor. </p>

<p>Storr originally from Kankakee (IL) was attending Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas, NV until recently. Storr left both states after they decided to shutdown basketball during these Covid-19 times. Storr is still blending in here and is a great addition to this already talented program. </p>
