UTS Sports Headquarters has become synonymous with high level high school and grassroots basketball. Over the course of the pandemic, UTS has played a very important role in keeping players in Michigan mentally and physically healthy and ready. The walls of UTS Sports Headquarters have not just seen players maintain through the course of Covid, but improve and expand their games. We will look at 6 players that have gotten better at UTS over the last few months.

[player_tooltip player_id="811109" first="Keyon" last="Menifield"] (2021, G, Flint Beecher)

Menifield began his ascent as soon a grassroots basketball was started again. All the way through the fall showcases, he proved to be an elite perimeter talent. Menifield could put the ball on the floor, shake his defender, and go either way. He proved to be a tough finisher at the rim, whether it be from an above the rim finish or using body control to finish underneath.

[player_tooltip player_id="814560" first="Trinidad" last="Chambliss"] (2021, G, Forest Hills Northern)

Chambliss is a terrific all around athlete that has honed his physical skills by staring in multiple sports. He is an elite 2 way player that highlights a physical defensive game. Chambliss is a quick change of direction floor general that handles the ball aggressively. He’s productively unselfish and won’t hesitate to pass up a look at the rim in order to feed a teammate that has a better shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="863922" first="Brady" last="Titus"] (G, Tri-Unity Christian)

If Titus was a few inches taller, he’d have a laundry list of D1 offers, He has a D1 game and whoever lands him at the next level will be getting an absolute steal. Titus can score from all 3 levels. He can either as a score first lead guard or a pass first floor general. Titus plays downhill defensively. He stays in his opponents face, likes to pick up at halfcourt, and pressures his man till they fold.

[player_tooltip player_id="863943" first="Mason" last="Woods"] (G, East Lansing)

Woods is a very intriguing prospect. He’s another UTS player that brings all around athleticism to the table. Woods may be at his best in the open floor. When he gets out in transition, he shows superior court vision and the ability to hit his teammates in stride with a pass. Woods has a solid jumper with 3 point range to go with it.

[player_tooltip player_id="987635" first="Anthony" last="Sydnor"] Jr. (G, Muskegon)

Sydnor Jr. was incredibly impressive this summer. He can excel in both the open floor and a half court set. Sydnor Jr. attacks the rim with physicality and he can finish in traffic and shake off contact. He does a nice job working to get open without the ball and showing himself to his teammates when he’s free. Sydnor Jr. has a terrific upside as a player and prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="987274" first="Jordan" last="Briggs"] (G, Muskegon)

Briggs and Sydnor Jr. might be the best backcourt in the state in a couple of years. They are both skilled and have styles that mesh extremely well. Briggs is an elite ball handler and incredibly shifty off the dribble. He can change direction, wiggle, and squeeze his way in the lane almost at will. Once he gets to the lane, Briggs can use body control to finish as well as dish off to a teammate in scoring position.
