Jalen Griffith Jalen Griffith 5'9" | PG Simeon | 2023 State IL (Simeon – 2023)
The Simeon sophomore point guard was electric as usual in this contest. He got his team going when they were off to a slow start with a runner and corner three. His speed in the open floor kept his team going along with his ability to get others involved with his passing. Pushed the tempo in the open floor and made several elite passes in the half court. Pesky defender that created turnovers.
Ahamad Bynum Ahamad Bynum 6'2" | SG Simeon | 2021 State #94 Nation IL (Simeon – 2021)
The DePaul commit started off the game slow, but then got things going as the contest went along. He is a microwave scorer and that is exactly what he did late in the contest. Had a tough runner with his off hand and then drilled a pair of threes off the catch which helped his team capture the win.
Phillip Holmes Phillip Holmes 6'7" | C Simeon | 2021 State IL (Simeon – 2021)
Holmes is an underrated senior prospect that should be getting more attention on the recruiting trail. What we like about his game is what he brings defensively as a rim protector. Blocked several shots and altered others. Offensively he is a good screener and solid rebounder for second chance points.
Chikasi Ofoma Chikasi Ofoma 6'6" | C Curie | 2023 State IL (Simeon – 2023)
Ofomoa is a bit raw at times and still finding his way, but really like the potential here. Strong bodied four that plays with a motor and is at his best when playing with his high activity level around the hoop. Gets on the glass with bounce.
Jaylen Drane Jaylen Drane 6'2" | PG Simeon | 2022 State IL (Simeon – 2022)
Drane is one of the top guards in the 2022 class. He has the look of the new age combo guard that colleges love. Long and lanky build with plus athleticism and the ball on a string. Had a couple shifty moves in the paint where he was fouled. Also got loose in transition for several layups.
Morez Johnson (St. Rita – 2024)
Johnson might have been the most impressive player on the floor in this game. The freshman who is a long and thin four man not only flashed upside, but was productive. He used a sweet up and under move, finished through contact on an and-1, got on the glass for a pair of put backs, and drilled a two face up mid-range jumpers. Led the game in scoring. Was also a factor on the glass and loved what he brought defensively switching on almost any position on the floor.
James Brown (St. Rita – 2024)
Brown didn’t score much in this game, but he was a game changer on the boards. The center is an excellent rebounder with the way he high-points rebounds in traffic. Has strong hands for a young big man and knows how to secure it away from his opponent.
Kaiden Space Kaiden Space 6'2" | SG St.Rita | 2023 State IL (St. Rita – 2023)
Space is a solid all-around combo guard that can play both on and off the ball. He shined with his perimeter shooting in this game drilling a trio of threes.
Josh Pickett (St. Rita – 2024)
Speaking of hot shooting from beyond the arc Pickett was scorching from deep. He drained three of them as well showing nice form and confidence letting it fly.
Jaedin Reyna (St. Rita – 2024)
Reyna is a high IQ point guard that never seems to be fazed when playing against older competition. He plays at his pace with smooth acceleration and tremendous poise. Got in the lane where he was fouled and dished the rock to his many weapons.
Darrion Baker Darrion Baker 6'8" | PF St Rita | 2023 State #227 Nation IL (St. Rita – 2023)
This athletic and mobile four man has nice length and is a factor on the defensive end with the way he moves both in the paint and on the perimeter. Brings quickness inside on the offensive end.
