Vorst is the only OHSAA product to appear in this article, one of the biggest prospects in the state is headed to Indiana State for college. Vorst has battled injuries throughout his prep career but is having a great senior season. Very skilled in the post, Vorst can score with his back to the basket and can pass out of double teams. A bit of a hidden gem because of the injuries and part of the state he’s from, Vorst is one of the most talented prospects in Ohio’s 2023 class and if he can stay healthy will likely be a major contributor at the mid major level.

Vorst was the main player Mansfield Senior was trying to stop. They sent many double teams at him and Vorst did not score a ton but he did affect the games in every other way. He made Mansfield shoot threes all game because people were scared to take it to the rim. He was blocking everything. He got many rebounds and made some next-level passes. He has a great feel for the game. What really impressed me was Vorst’s motor. He is a big kid and was all over the floor. Was playing very hard and it was great to see because I know this kid has felt with knee injuries. Good to see him moving well and pushing himself to play hard.

A highly touted prospect who I have never gotten to see play in person and that’s why he hasn’t been ranked on our website. Vorst finally looks healthy again and he was very impressive on Sunday. Vorst is capable of finishing with either hand in the post and shows a lot of skill and coordination with the ball in his hands. Vorst was moving pretty well and had a couple dunks off cuts and put-backs. Vorst looks like a clear mid-major level prospect if he can stay healthy and I don’t think it’s going to take very long for D1 programs to pull the trigger once they see him play and work out in front of them.
