With the Signing Period fully underway we wanted to take this time to look at some unsigned local prospects that would be great additions to the right program. In this article, we take a look at 5 unsigned local players with D1 Talent.

[player_tooltip player_id="927117" first="Jan" last="Madi Ngock"] 6’7 PF Trinity (#8)-

Pro’s: Size and athleticism

Fit: School looking to add size and athleticism to their frontcourt

Scouts Take: Against top competition, he shows he can be a rebounder and transition finisher. He’s better as a 4 vs a 3, but he does have some ball skills that allow him to create for himself. If he can stay healthy, you would be getting a potential high production player ready to contribute immediately.

[player_tooltip player_id="927116" first="Cameron" last="Kimble"] 6’4 SG Clark (#9)

Pro’s: Scoring, perimeter defense, character

Fit: School willing to develop a talented wing

Scouts Take: At worse Kimble is the ultimate glue guy. At best you have a guy that could end up being an extremely productive college basketball player. I like the fact that he has played for one school for 3 years, and he saw significant minutes as a sophomore playing alongside current Oklahoma guard Jalen Hill, and Michigan commit [player_tooltip player_id="806816" first="Frankie" last="Collins"]. High Character guy that is not averse to earning minutes.

[player_tooltip player_id="858147" first="Jonathan" last="Braggs"] 6’3 SG Bishop Gorman (#10) (featured image)

Pro’s: Shooting,

Fit: School looking for 3 and D players

Scouts Take: When he’s on, Bragg’s physique and shooting ability provide glimpses of a division 1 player. Perhaps no player was more hurt by the shutdown than him. For Braggs, it’s simply a matter of consistency and eliminating mistakes. This would have obviously been a lot easier to display and improve on with a season. As it is, he’s a guy that can defend 1 through 3 while spacing the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="533061" first="Dayshawn" last="Wiley"] 6’3 SG Desert Pines (#11)

Pro’s: R&J athletic ability

Fit: School that plays positionless basketball in an uptempo pressure defense style

Scouts Take: What I like about Wiley the most, is that he shows up in big games and he doesn’t need a play run for him to score. He has D1 athleticism and his ceiling could be an elite college 3 and D guy.

[player_tooltip player_id="927135" first="Mason" last="Mich’l"] 6’7 PF Desert Oasis (#14)

Pro’s: Size, R&J athleticism

Fit: School that needs frontcourt depth and values stretch bigs

Scouts: Take: Mich’l is the ultimate sleeper. I’ve seen him absolutely dominant against top competition at times. His biggest issue is staying healthy. He is athletic enough to hedge and switch ball screens, and skilled enough to put the ball on the ground and create for himself. Mich’l is an explosive leaper that can finish at the rim and through contact. His injury issues are a risk, however, because of his shooting, athleticism and limited game action, he has an untapped ceiling.
