A couple of weekends ago, PrepHoops Indiana put on our 7th annual Senior Showcase in Fort Wayne, IN. This was a massive event and tons of seniors from 6 different states were able to showoff their talent and skills to over 120 college coaches that watched both in-person and virtually. Over the next few weeks, we are going to breakdown each team and evaluate each player from that team. Today, we look at Team 8.

Team 8:

Parnell Lanier Jr – 5’11″ PG – Arsenal Tech IN:

Lanier is a long and smooth point guard. Really had a breakout performance at this event with splashing five 3's and having 33 points in total. Does really well with stealing the ball and scoring in transition. His passing was really the only thing that looked a little off at times so will need to clean that up a bit. Very interested to see if he can build off this performances and prove to colleges why he deserves more looks.

[player_tooltip player_id="921045" first="Kendall" last="Brasfield"] – 6’2″ SG – Curie IL:

Brasfield is a shorter guard with a big frame. Solid defender and had a couple of steals. Scoring mainly comes from the floaters and runners but can knock down the occasional 3-pointer (two 3's) from time to time. Finished with 18 points and has a GPA of 3.40. Solid showing from Brasfield.

[player_tooltip player_id="814691" first="Jaylen" last="Adams"] – 6’3″ SG – West Bloomfield MI:

Adams is a bigger shooting guard that can go. Good shooter (three 3's) but is the type of guard that looks like he would rather drive and score around the paint. Plays real fast with the ball in his hands. Crashed the boards well and was intense on defense. Finished with 15 points but does look like he can be a consistent scorer. Interesting prospect that could do well at the next level with the right opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id="919024" first="Marcus" last="Stewart"] – 6’4″ SG – Wellington OH:

Stewart is a lefty that is pretty big for a shooting guard. Not your typical "catch and shoot" two guard but does a good job in creating space and attacking the rim. Great on the pull-up and did show that he can knock it down from deep as well. Great defender and had a huge block. Ended up with 21 points on the day. Likes to let his shot fly and is capable of breaking out at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="920951" first="Odin" last="Lium"] – 6’7″ PF – Oswego East IL:

Lium is a long and lanky power forward with true stretch ability. Nice ball handles for a big and has a smooth stepback, 15fter. Solid at crashing the glass, especially on the offense. Really just needs to work on hitting his jumper more consistently and adding some more physical strength. Finished with 16 points and had a couple of 3's. Odin has some breakout ability.

[player_tooltip player_id="963931" first="Kaden" last="Howell"] – 5’10″ SG – Madison-Grant IN:

Howell is a smaller combo guard with a big build. Plays real quick and has a smooth jumper. At his best when he can get out and run but does have a capable outside jumper. Very smart player off the court with a nice 4.00 GPA. Although he still looks like he plays with more of that “pass first mentality,” he did look a little more aggressive with his scoring. Solid showing from Howell.

[player_tooltip player_id="963943" first="Dylan" last="Ritter"] – 6’1″ PG – Zionsville IN:

Ritter is a bigger lead guard that has some solid court vision and awareness. Very smart player both on and off the court (4.20 GPA). Good at creating opportunities for his teammates as well as himself at times. Can be a capable scorer if he needs to be as he finished with 26 points in total with 12 of those points coming from four 3's. Ritter is a player that can really take that next step this season and breakout as a senior. Impressive showing from Ritter.

[player_tooltip player_id="874211" first="Parion" last="Roberson"] – 6’4″ PF – Gary West IN:

Roberson is a big wing that can also play the post. Just plays like a bull and is super aggressive with the ball in his hands. Was very out of control and was trying to do too much at times I watched him but that could have just been a rare occurrence. Finished with 18 points overall. Lot of potential in Roberson at the next level just with his style of play alone.

[player_tooltip player_id="874147" first="Miles" last="McGowen"] – 6’6″ PF – Mooresville IN:

McGowen is a tall forward that can really space the floor. He’s really mobile and able to play all over the floor. Great rebounder and has the ability to make plays on both ends of the floor. Looks to be pretty strong now and defends multiple spots pretty well. Very smart player off the floor with a GPA of 4.20. This will be a big year for McGowen as he will finally be able to put all of his improvements together and potentially have a breakout year. Type of player that could really rack the offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="814579" first="Jahlani" last="Thornton"] – 6’6″ SF/PF – Detroit Edison MI:

Thornton is a long forward that can really stretch the floor. Runs the floor very well with long strides to get him to his spot quicker. Uses those long strides when attacking the rim and is real solid at finishing there. High motor and is the type of player that can be, if not already, an elite defender. Broke out in the third game with 12 points and finished with 23 points overall. Lot of potential with both scoring and defending with Thornton.
