The class of 2022 rankings were recently released. With over 75 players making the list, it’s our most exclusive rankings yet. What makes this class unique is how many players on the list are from non 5A schools. In this article PH takes a look at the top small school players who cracked #51 - 77 on our list.

[player_tooltip player_id="985613" first="Deondre" last="Matthews"] 5’11 PG Chaparral (#58) - Matthews is a scrappy guard who can take it to the hole or hit the 3. He finished with a total of 6 double figure games last season as a sophomore for the Cowboys.

[player_tooltip player_id="986768" first="Brody" last="Thralls"] 5’11 SG Incline (#61) - Thralls is a defensive maven with a terrific all around game. He averaged 8 - 6 - 4 with an additional 3 steals a game for the 2A runner ups. While he does a little of everything the 5’11 combo proved he can put the ball in the hole when he went for a season high 23 against Silver Stage last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="985615" first="Jonathon" last="Taylor"] 5’9 PG Sunrise Mountain (#68) - The diminutive Taylor makes the list after contributing last season for SM. The 5’9 dynamo is a scrappy player that went for a career high 13 against Chaparral last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="999101" first="Christian" last="Ware"] 6’2 SG SLAM (#69) - Ware is a definite sleeper. As his game continues to catch up to his recent growth spurt, expect him to rise. The lean sniper grew 4 inches since this Spring. He is a confident shooter with a quick release who loves to bury corner 3’s.

[player_tooltip player_id="1006755" first="Colson" last="Madruga"] 6’5 PF Lake Mead Christian Academy (#71) - Excited to see what Madruga does after returning from a knee injury. He has good basketball instincts and can score the ball down low. Watching him play during the summer, you see a competitive bruiser willing to mix it up down low. Madruga should provide instant low post defense and rebounding for the Eagles.

[player_tooltip player_id="1039858" first="Jack" last="Ferrence"] 5’11 CG Lake Mead Christian Academy (#72) - The Eagles should have a deep and talented roster this season. Ferrence is another terrific weapon for the squad. A good shooter, with a crafty handle, the 5’11 Ferrence has the ability to play both backcourt spots.
