It was a tremendous weekend of basketball in Indianapolis, Indiana for the Prep Hoops Havoc in the Heartland tournament. We had tons of coverage over the weekend and that continues looking back at the event! Here is our Havoc in the Heartland: Illinois 2021 Stock Risers Pt 1!

[player_tooltip player_id="916752" first="Jamari" last="McClendon"] (Illinois Jaguars – 2020)

McClendon is technically a 2020 prospect and an unsigned senior. If any JUCOs saw him over the weekend that should change quickly! He would be an ideal late pick up. Scoring point guard with solid size. He lived in the paint all game long with his ability to get to the rim on straight line drives. Did hit a three and was a solid rebounder as a guard. Quality perimeter defender that can check both backcourt spots.

[player_tooltip player_id="925212" first="Andrew" last="Lewis"] (Peoria Area Elite)

Lewis intrigued us off his high school tape at Washington during the winter. Like what he brings to the table as a distributor. Good feel and has some craftiness with the rock in his hands making plays through the defense.

DeMarco Clayton (Illinois Hoopstars)

This Bloomington 6’5” two guard was outstanding in his final game of the event for the Hoopstars. Slender build and long arms. He found holes in the defense all game long attacking the weakness or going coast to coast for finishes. Was capable shooter as well hitting a three off both the catch and pulling up.

[player_tooltip player_id="647237" first="Connor" last="Davis"] (HIT)

Davis is a tough and hard-nosed wing that has strength. He drilled three triples for HIT in their win on Saturday. Showcased a quick and concise release off the catch as a quality spot up option from the perimeter. Sound wing rebounder as well crashing the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id="652746" first="Luke" last="Braman"] (HIT)

Braman had a strong effort for HIT as well. The Roanoke Benson 6’9” center did a nice job of high-pointing rebounds in traffic. Was assertive on the glass. Shot blocking presence on the defensive end. Flashed offensively including a quick spin that he finished with his off hand. A lot of developmental upside here!

[player_tooltip player_id="996004" first="Jesus" last="Perez"] (Illinois Outwork)

Perez continues to impress this spring. The Morton point guard is a shifty lead guard that has the ball on a string. Plays with speed and understands how to change gears on a dime. Solid three point shooter with range on his shot!

[player_tooltip player_id="920979" first="Shane" last="Miller"] (Illinois Hoopstars)

We have been fans of this Springfield point guard for a while. The rising senior is a well-built guard that brings some shake off the bounce. He gets in the lane for scores slicing the defense up over and over. One of his more impressive plays was when he got his defender going backwards, did a spin move to shake him, and drilled a pull up. Works well in that 15-18 feet range with his shot.
