WVIDC 1st Team

Sunday September 27th I attended Aaron Villa's first ever West Valley ID Camp at Independence HS.

There were nearly 60 players with six teams and I now go over all six teams. We start with the

1st Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2759173' first='Jordan' last='Cruz'] Dysart

One of the Co-MVP's of the inaugural WVIDC went to Cruz. The lefty is quick to the basket with one of the better first steps at the camp. He creates his own offense with his tighter handle getting to his spots. He has polished floaters, step thrus with plus body control and he is also a very good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2640544' first='King' last='Kalikilwa'] West Point

The other Co-MVP belonged to King. He not only was the top two-way player in attendance, he is also one of the better ones in the junior class. He truly makes his opponents uncomfortable handling the rock and his lateral quickness and length are next level traits. Like Cruz, he has an impressive first step to go along with his burst to get downhill and shoot the three with deep range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2332290' first='Amir' last='Kendrick'] Cactus Canyon

A scoring point guard fills it up every way with step thrus, blow by drives, and-1 contact takes, off the dribble mid-range jumpers and threes. He will also dribble thru the traffic with hesitations and will drop dimes to his teammates with drive and kicks.

[player_tooltip player_id='3143427' first='Myking' last='Marfell-Williams'] Westview

A scoring point guard with some quickness and skill. He will throw up the court passes and score it easily. He will shoot it with deep range beyond the stripe, he will burst past his initial defender and also change speeds. He can take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast with a smooth handle. He will also rip some pockets for steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2659968' first='Gabriel' last='Mwizerwa'] West Point (Pictured)

A legit sized center with maybe a seven-foot wingspan is coming along very quickly. He has good hands to score inside with drop steps, euros, mid-range jumpers and his pet move, the right hand hook shot. He is patient in the post and will score with dunks and offensive rebound put backs. He is also a top of the food chain shot blocker. He is easily one of the best shot blockers in the junior class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2507246' first='Quincee' last='Wilson'] Sequoia Pathfinder

A long wing forward who is an explosive leaper to dunk it on the break. He uses his length and size to dominate the glass and will score it with put backs in bunches. He will fill it up with threes, slashes to the basket and mid-range J's showing an all around game. He is also a good passer up the court.
