As part of our preseason preview content, we're counting down the top 15 candidates for this year's Mr. Basketball award, presented annually to the top senior in the state. Our countdown continues with our No. 12 player, Ballard forward [player_tooltip player_id='2419750' first='Parker' last='Miller'].

Name: [player_tooltip player_id='2419750' first='Parker' last='Miller']
Height: 6-5
Position: SF
School: Ballard

2025-26 stats: 326 points (12.1/game), 159 rebounds (5.9), 88 assists (3.3), 64 steals (2.4), 14 blocks (0.5), 127-233 FG (54.5%), 23-63 3P (36.5%), 49-61 FT (80.3%)
Career stats: 672 points (9.1), 373 rebounds (5.0), 190 assists (2.6), 133 steals (1.8), 34 blocks (0.5), 270-473 FG (57.1%), 33-99 3P (33.3%), 99-132 FT (75.0%)

About Miller: Miller is a highly athletic combo forward who has steadily improved and continued to develop and add more and more to his game over the last few years. He was just the third leading scorer for the 3A state champion Bombers last season, but his two-way impact was immense. He's capable of defending one through five at this level, can score inside and out, and has improved his ball-handling and playmaking considerably over the last 18 months. He was a huge piece of the [program_tooltip program_id='2075605' first='Kingdom' last='Hoops'] EYCL team that made a run all the way to the prolific Peach Jam tournament over the summer, and will pair with [player_tooltip player_id='2419714' first='Evan' last='Abbott'] to give Ballard a real chance at repeating in 3A.

Why he can win Mr. Basketball: Miller's career averages pale in comparison to most of the other players on this countdown, but he's going to be one of the best players on what should once again be one of the state's best teams, which will keep him on people's radars. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is rivaled by few other players in the class, and if he's a high-level player on a two-time state champion, why wouldn't he at least be a candidate?
