High School Spotlight: Lawrence North Wildcats

The High School Spotlight Series is back and we are excited to feature multiple teams throughout the state once again! The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Lawrence North Wildcats.

Quick Hitters

Went 19-6 last season.

Lost to Lawrence Central in Sectionals.

Head Coach Chris Giffin starts his 5th year as head coach. There is plenty of opportunity for guys to step into key roles this season, and the guy stepping into the "top guy" role is junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2560351' first='Chandon' last='Gilbert']. Gilbert is a top-six player in the in-state 2028 Prep Hoops rankings, and that is because of how he can score and defend. He averaged over 10 points per game last year, and you can expect him to do that and more for the Wildcats this season.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2886513' first='Levin' last='Robinson']

Probably no debate here, but [player_tooltip player_id='2886513' first='Levin' last='Robinson'] is the top 2030 prospect in the state, and that bodes very well for Lawrence North. Robinson is a 6'7" forward with a high-level combination of size, strength, athleticism, and skill for his age. He is going to be a difference-maker and oftentimes the top prospect on the floor in any game he is in.

Other Key Roster Members

[player_tooltip player_id='3579629' first='Kamran' last='Bell']

[player_tooltip player_id='2797619' first='Trey' last='Harper']

[player_tooltip player_id='2797618' first='Darian' last='Prather']

[player_tooltip player_id='3725891' first='Dominique' last='Hollowell']

[player_tooltip player_id='2470653' first='Trey' last='Cunningham']
