Saturday, October 17th I attended the 1st annual Dillon Brooks Invitational at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. Many AIA teams were in the building plus some local top prep teams mixed in with Grind Session teams from out of town. I ended up watching nearly 25 teams.

Most Versatile

[player_tooltip player_id='2432574' first='Terrance' last='Byrd'] Sandra Day O'Connor (Pictured)

A true point forward type plays and defends every position on the floor. He is essentially their point guard but then defends centers, forwards and guards. He scores it with long strides to the basket, mid-range jumpers, he is super patient in the post to score versus size and he creates his own offense with his tight handle. (He has recently transferred to AZ Compass Prep.)

[player_tooltip player_id='2550840' first='Austin' last='Turner'] Perry

A long wing forward or bigger guard had a good showing. He has some quick bounce and natural athleticism he uses on both sides of the court. He rebounds well, blocks shots and scores it a variety of ways. He will hit the three, drive it down the lane with his tighter handle for position and he is a very good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2975471' first='Kur' last='Lual'] AZ Compass Prep EYBL

A long and very tall wing forward who is fast and fluid. He can play and defend most positions on the floor outside of center and has a good feel for the game to make a play for a teammate. He will score with threes off the catch, dunks in transition and gets to the basket. (He has recently transferred to Bella Vista Prep.)

[player_tooltip player_id='2976850' first='Isaiah' last='Clarke'] Bella Vista Prep

A combo forward who can play either position is athletic and super twitchy. He will rebound in and out of his area and he is a good passer. He will shoot it from elbow and in but then work inside and play with his back to the basket and post up and dunks it easily with power.

[player_tooltip player_id='2947346' first='Giovanni' last='Nielsen'] Deer Valley

A versatile bigger guard or wing forward plays a few positions for the Skyhawks on both ends of the court. He will score it easily in transition, he will rip thru, run to the corner and shoot the three, cut off the ball to the basket and will unselfishly move the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2967037' first='Jayson' last='Ikani'] Bella Vista Prep

A thicker framed forward is a two-way prospect who can play and defend multiple positions. He has great length and good size combined with athleticism and skill. He can hit the three, flush it down way above the rim and rebounds at a high clip with his athletic tools. He is your classic glue guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194476' first='Martray' last='Bagley'] Mountain Pointe

A bigger guard who can play a few positions for the Pride. He will defend a few positions, rebound at a good clip and even block shots. He scores it every way with off the ball cuts, mid-range jumpers, threes off the catch and gets to the basket to score or gets fouled. He is also a sneaky good passer.
