Every team at the 2026 Prep Hoops Iowa Expo had many intriguing prospects. And Team 3 was no exception to that fact. Let's get right into my evaluations of Team 3's top performers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2523757' first='Carson' last='Nichols'] lit up his opponents with his absolutely exceptional jump shooting talent. Some of the most impressive and deep-range shots that I saw at this event came from him. And once he got hot, it really felt like there was nothing any defender could do to slow him down. He hit off the catch at an elite clip, and he was just as efficient pulling up and over defenders as well. Being contested, off balance, and even setting his feet off movement did little to quell his proficiency as a shooter. I'd say the main skills that stood out about his shooting profile were his balance and sheer focus. Carson's jumper always looked the same no matter the circumstances he was in. Fluid, all in one motion, and perfectly vertical are all great descriptions of his jump shot. His footwork as a shooter was in control, fundamentally sound, and it aided his ability to just get the ball in his hand and let it fly in a moment's notice. However, it was not just Carson's shooting that stood out to me. He displayed some smooth ball handling and driving abilities. Using his quick first step to get to the rim and draw fouls. He showcased a high feel for the game, making smart passes in transition. And finally, his rebounding and defensive impact were comparably effective.

Bryce Hadenfeldt showed off his shot creation abilities throughout this event. He showed himself to be an extremely agile and fluid advantage creator and initiator. His downhill speed combined with his knowledge of space and touch allowed him to put constant pressure on the defense. And I'd say one of my favorite things about his game was his finesse and ingenious moves. He used pass fakes to move defenders out of his driving lanes, leading to advantageous layup attempts that he finished at a very high clip. And even while being contested at the rim, his delicate touch and ability to finish through contact didn't allow defenders to halt his production around the cup. All these skills led to him constantly drawing extra defenders and creating openings for his teammates. Which he was very adept at making calculated reads at high speeds, finding his teammates and producing open looks for them. Bryce was a very impactful defender at this event as well. He used his length and mobility to stick to his matchup and slide with them, shutting off driving lanes and thwarting open threes with timely rotations.

Kha'Lill Greene displayed his well-rounded skill set at the guard position at The Expo. For starters, his deep-range shooting abilities very much stood out. He showcased the skill to hit from outside on set shots and pull-up threes. With the speed of his release being the main factor for his proficiency as a sniper from downtown. He really elevates off the floor in an instant when it comes to his jumper. Which made it very difficult for defenders to hamper his abilities as a jump shooter. And in general, contests did not seem to bother him much or slow him down at all. His speed as a driver was another one of his most impressive skills. Kha'Lill showed some exceptional acceleration and quick first-step abilities that created many paint touches for him. And he was no slouch when it came to finishing these around-the-rim attempts at high speeds. Changing angles midair and utilizing his touch to score around the interior. The threat he offered as a downhill attacker opened up his playmaking as well. He dropped off some impressive interior passes while flying downhill. And he was amazing at keeping his head up in these scenarios and finding his squad for great looks. Throwing passes around defenders and through traffic at a high level. Lastly, his physicality and effort on defense was very admirable. He did a great job against every matchup he was tasked with. Staying low, sliding his feet, and not allowing penetration.

The main two words to describe how [player_tooltip player_id='2812831' first='Easton' last='Gassman'] played at this event are heart and tenacity. His effort and energy were non-stop every time I saw him play. He fought on the defensive end like no other. Switching, helping, and stonewalling his individual matchups with constant engagement defensively. He took on every matchup that he was tasked with, and provided the utmost effort. And he really displayed some enticing versatility with his ability to do so. This effort translated to the glass as well. He was great at fighting for position and chasing down rebounds for his squad. His ability to embrace contact and use his frame and physicality made his rebounding impact even more effective. And he used this physical disposition to impact the game offensively as well. He was awesome at bullying defenders in the post with his strength and finishing through hard contact. Screening was another area where he was very impactful because of these tools as well. And his off-the-catch three-point shooting skills added even more utility to his profile as an offensive player. Along with his unselfishness and smart passes that kept the ball moving and led to open shots.
