Zero Gravity Rumble for the Ring: Impressive 2029 Wings and Bigs

Against a tough and big Expressions squad on Saturday, the Team NSSA product was the strongest and most athletic player on the floor. The 6-foot-5 forward was an absolute beast on the boards and probably had a double-double from put-backs alone in the first half. He also has phenomenal hands in the short roll, can protect the rim effectively on the defensive end, and has a budding perimeter skillset. Deng missed an insane dunk attempt, too, that would've totally rocked the gym. He's going to be one of Salem's best players this coming season and has scholarship potential if he can keep improving and getting bigger. The 6-foot-7 forward showcased an offensive skillset—nice dribble moves, good passing instincts, and very soft touch at the rim—at a far more advanced level than I've seen in the past. He scored tons of points in the paint by way of his motor (offensive rebounds and cuts) but also got to the rim on his own, without a screen or much space. Erickson hasn't reclassed yet and has ridiculous potential in the coming years—I already feel like he's gotten a lot better in the past 4-6 months. The 6-foot-4 wing (or big guard) has good size and insanely long arms, and he might've been the best shooter I saw this weekend. He was lethal as a spot-up marksman and has excellent mechanics when it comes to getting his feet set and staying on balance. The underclassman also showcased impressive ball handling ability and good extended finishes at the hoop on a number of fast-break situations. If you looked at his size and frame—6-foot-7 and very big—you'd think he's meant to be an offensive lineman on a football field. But he moves extremely well, has as shifty a handle for a guy that size as I've seen in awhile, and can really pass the rock. He keeps an amazing line to the rim as a result of his strength, but he also has a deep enough bag to get by guys with the bounce. The 6-foot-3 wing is a phenomenal rebounder for his size and gets tons of boards on both ends as a result of his leaping ability, second jump, active hands, and motor. Offensively, he can handle it on the perimeter and make shots from three, and he's a talented finisher at the rim with contact. The 6-foot-3 forward has extremely strong hands and quite a bit of density to him, so he's impossible to move off his spot in the post. Furthermore, he's quite effective once he gets a touch on the block—he makes great kickout passes to open three point shooters and can go to work for easy buckets if the help never comes. Reynolds is an extremely skilled player who could see his productivity rise significantly if he really commits to his conditioning and motor.
