Wisconsin Sophomore ID Camp: Team 11 Evaluation

Lewis struck me as more of a "traditional" point guard in the sense that he was not too stuck on getting his own shot but more interested in setting up his teammates. Solid with his handle, Lewis showed nice patience, when he did drive, always looking to make the correct read. He also showed he could shoot knocking down jumpers when left open.     It took him a little while to get going but the 5-11 Scholz showed flashes of a player who can get hot and stay hot knocking down 3's on three straight possessions. Not just a shooter, Scholz was active, both on the glass, and defensively.     I have seen Pelton play, now for the third time since April, and he looks like he grew a couple of inches over the summer. Long and athletic, Pelton has the complete bag of moves, both off of the dribble, going to the rim, or in creating space on the perimeter. As well as he played, offensively, Pelton also gave the opponents fits both with his active hands and length blocking several shots.     Another complete point guard, that I watched, Rykal had a strong showing at The Sophomore ID Camp. Great with the ball, in his hands, Rykal was always making to look the proper read showing patience in hitting teammates perfectly for assists. Defensively he moves his feet and understands how to use his hands without drawing fouls.     6-3 with good length, Robinson had a good day on Saturday. Defensively he used his body well to play strong D, both on the ball and in the passing lanes. Offensively he showed an improved outside touch knocking down a couple of long balls and did a nice job of crashing the glass, on both ends of the floor.     McCormick was a player, coming into the camp, that I was unfamiliar with but he is definitely on my radar after what I saw on Saturday! As a freshman, for North Crawford, McCormick averaged 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds and it is easy to see why. Big guard with the quickness to get by his defender and the awareness to not only make the correct read but to also deliver a near perfect pass. On the other end, McCormick impressed playing strong, aggressive on-ball defense.     Greve stood out as one of the top rebounders that I watched on Saturday. Big and physical, Greve used his strength to control the boards and looks like a "high ceiling" player. Offensively he showed good post footwork and stepped out and knocked down a 20 footer showing good range.     Solid swingman type, Anderson displayed a nice all-around game at The Sophomore ID Camp. With the ball, Anderson showed good burst in getting past his defender, on several occasions, finishing with good touch from 10-15 feet. Active on the glass, Anderson was difficult to block out due to his hustle and anticipation.
