Underrated Stock Risers: Summer Grassroots Edition

This summer was quite the productive time for stock risers in the grassroots circuit, and I had the opportunity to watch several different tournaments with high level players competing. This edition will cover my top stock risers I was able to watch across events such as Prep Hoops, GASO, and OTR. Let's take a further look into some of the skillsets of my top underrated sleepers this summer.    [player_tooltip player_id='2841619' first='Tyler' last='Spraggins'] is a competitor who works hard on both ends of the floor. He consistently finds way to keep his team's energy up especially on defense, notching steals by playing passing lanes and pressure opposing ballhandlers into turnovers. He finds open spots on the perimeter and knocks down three point shots off the catch and shoot, as well as moving constantly off ball. His motor is consistent hustling for loose balls, and he is able to help handle the ball in the halfcourt setting as well.     Chris is a 2027 guard for the Texas Magic that I first watched two summers ago in Dallas, and he made quite the impression on me with his hustle and finesse on both sides of the ball. He locks down the best opposing players on the perimeter, and his speed allows him to keep up with full courts with the quickest guards. Chris provides versatility on offense with spot up shooting ability, and he is always able to constantly draw contact driving to the rim against tough defense. His lateral quickness allows Anguiano to be efficient picking off passes and converting in transition.     Manu is one of the best young snipers I have watched come out of Houston lately and I got my first chance to see him action this summer. Salanoa's deep range is uncanny and the way he makes tough shots over closing out defenders is fun to watch. He can hurt opposing teams either off the pull up or catch and shoot from the corner or wing slots. He handles the ball well even under full court pressure and he does not get rattled by crunch time moments or game on the line shots. One of the best young stock risers in the city, he will be quite the impact player for Atascocita.     [player_tooltip player_id='2640637' first='Mackell' last='Jenkins'] is an effective downhill scorer who uses speed and quick decision making to his advantage in isolation situations. He has a shifty first step that allows him to get past defenders to the basket as well as finding open teammates for good shots at the rim. He applies aggressive pressure on defense to force opposing guards into traps at halfcourt. He provides a steady dual-threat presence for Atascocita in terms of scoring and passing at the point guard slot and plays with great intensity nonstop on the floor.     This summer was my first time getting to watch Holder and despite his slender frame, he makes plays happen in the paint. He uses his wingspan to secure loose ball rebounds and block shots under the basket. He has a versatile skillset that allows him to handle the ball under pressure as well as pulling up over defenders in the midrange and paint. He is aggressive when guarding opposing players off the post up and makes sure he gives away no easy buckets. Holder had a productive summer for 1 Nation and will look to continue that going into this school year.
