The Expo: Team 2 Evals

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Expo the other weekend was a huge success, once again. We had over 90 athletes attend the boys expo and some of the best in the 2027 and 2028 classes competed against each other. Here's the evaluation for team 2.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#5 - [player_tooltip player_id='3745451' first='Aiden' last='Sartorius'] - Columbia River HS</strong></em> - Aiden did a great job at handling the ball throughout the day, not turning the ball over often. He has a high IQ when facilitating the offense, always finding the open man and being able to attack gaps to get paint touches for his team. His meticulous approach pays off as he sets up his teammates for easy buckets. Sartorius can also defend opposing guards well, not being afraid to apply pressure and pick up full.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#207 - [player_tooltip player_id='2845151' first='Gabe' last='Smith'] - Medical Lake HS </strong></em>- Gabe has a great frame and knows how to use it well. Defensively, he stays strong and brings energy to the court by diving for loose balls and taking pride in his defense. Smith played with a high IQ throughout the day, always making the extra pass, spacing out at the right time, and being able to find gaps. He is ready to have a great season for Medical Lake. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#217 - [player_tooltip player_id='2933126' first='Cash' last='Durgan'] - Mt Spokane HS </strong></em>- Cash is a lengthy wing/post who brings the energy for his team. He rebounded really well throughout the entire showcase, showcasing his athleticism when rising to grab the ball. His offensive game is established down low but he did a great job at extending his range during 5v5 play to hit some 3's for his team. He's an incoming junior to keep an eye on for a breakout season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#236 - [player_tooltip player_id='2544176' first='Jay' last='Beahan'] - Bremerton HS</strong></em> - Jay stands at 6'11" and is always a tough matchup for opposing players. He established his presence in the paint quickly during 3v3 and 5v5 play, sealing defenders and being able to get open looks for himself. He rebounded well all day, easily grabbing the ball off the rim to put it back or find his guard to push it in transition. His game did extend to the three point line, draining a few while shooting with confidence. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#238 - [player_tooltip player_id='3334498' first='Will' last='Oeltjen'] - Bellevue HS </em></strong>- Will was excellent throughout the day with the ball in his hands. He is a natural bucket getter who stayed shifty with the ball, showing smooth agility and craftiness to get his shot off or find an open teammate. His jumper was reliable all day, knocking down shots from all 3 levels and rarelty forcing a bad shot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#313 - [player_tooltip player_id='2625616' first='Rahzi' last='Leonard'] - O'Dea HS</em></strong> - Leonard was one of the quickest players from the Expo in my eyes. He was fantastic in transition, getting the ball and being able to push it for easy buckets for himself or teammates. Leonard plays through contact nicely, adjusting quickly and having the strength to get buckets. He stayed alert on the defensive side too, being able to stay in front of opposing players and cause havoc. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#336 - [player_tooltip player_id='2485546' first='Alejandro' last='Colunga'] - Eisenhower HS </strong></em>- Colunga is a player who has seen his game make continuous improvement over the years. He plays with a patient approach, being able to control the pace of the game and force opposing guards to play at his speed. He makes accurate passes by always keeping his eyes up and delivering bullets to his teammates. His pick and roll game is smooth too, using screens off the correct angle and get downhill top get buckets. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#338 - [player_tooltip player_id='2962653' first='Terrence' last='Bigsmoke'] - North Central HS </em></strong>- Terrence was a player who stayed consistent throughout the day. He knows his role on the court and can adjust to what the defense gives him. Bigsmoke was able to facilitate the offense nicely, finding open teammates and using his vision to make great passes. He finished through contact in the paint, not being afraid to attack anyone on his way of the bucket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>#57 - Treyden Cornelison - Battle Ground HS</strong></em> - Treyden was a standout from the eyes of the scouts who were watching the event. He caught my eye with his size and his ability to use it to his advantage while staying under control and getting good looks on the offensive end. His jumper was fundamental and smooth, rising just above defenders to knock it down. He defended nicely too, using his strong frame to defend in the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
