Spencer’s Standouts-Prep Hoops’ Freshman Showcase-Part 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I attended the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase this past weekend at Inspire Courts. I came away extremely impressed with the class of 2030; there are a lot of high-upside players along with super-skilled kids right now. Most of these kids I haven't gotten to see live yet so this was a great event! Here are some of the players that impressed me a lot:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3662791' first='Jerison' last='Walcott'] (<strong>Pinnacle</strong>):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A super crafty guard who made his presence known at the camp. He has quick hands and feet, which let him stay in opponents' grill throughout the game. He gets out and runs in transition, which leads to a lot of easy layups for him. In the half-court, Jerison is able to get by defenders with ease and finish in numerous different ways around the league. He'll provide a spark off the bench for this Pinnacle team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3724080' first='Kai' last='Cohee'] (<strong>ALA</strong> <strong>QC</strong>):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kai showcased his impressive body and skill at this showcase. He is very tall and long and runs the floor with great strides. He is a high-IQ player; he'll make all the right passes to open teammates. He can also finish in contact in the paint. He is someone to keep an eye on as the year goes on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3728756' first='Breydon' last='Day'] (<strong>Williams</strong> <strong>Field</strong>):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Breydon showed his great upside during the event. Even with a baby face, Breydon is a force down low. He is great at post moves but can also hit midrange jumpers out of the paint. He will dunk it when the opportunities arrive. Breydon has a high motor and plays hard no matter what part of the game it is. He will have a big year this season, as he is already on varsity.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510665' first='Elai' last='Greenblatt'] (<strong>Pinnacle</strong>):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick on-quick point guard who was able to beat defenders with ease. Elai can get past defenders, and once he does, he looks to distribute to open teammates. He uses his body and angles to finish around the rim in fashion. Elai can hit the three-ball as well and uses that to his advantage. Elai made his impact felt at the showcase.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2836135' first='Myles' last='Scott'] (<strong>Millennium</strong>):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He used his impressive body and skill to show out at the Freshman Showcase. His jumper is pure, and he will take a lot of threes either off the catch or off the dribble. In transition, he will get up with ease and help energize his team. Myles works hard on defense, which will lead to a lot of easy baskets. With some Millennium players being ineligible due to transfer rules, he might have a role on varsity right away.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3757622' first='Brayden' last='Brodt'] (<strong>Chaparral</strong>):</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brayden used his high skill and IQ to showcase his abilities at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase. He has a high motor, which helps him grab rebounds and push the ball in transition. Brayden can make the right read and find open teammates. He finishes well around the rim and is a pass-first player, which creates opportunities for his baskets. He will have a good year for Chaparral and will be fun to watch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
