Southern AZ Showcase Undiscovered Guards Pt. 2

The boys side featured 100 of the top boys prospects from across Southern Arizona. Below are my top "Breakout" guards from the event. He did just that. He was a defensive menace who picked up 94 feet. One of the top on ball defenders in the showcase. Came up with many steals throughout the day and forced numerous turnovers. Impressive athleticism. Would get the steal the with a burst of speed take it the other way finishing with an electric dunk. Chavis has a college level frame and plays great through physicality. A solid frame and a dangerous skill set made Gaines stand out at this year's event. A force that would bully opposing guards in the paint when he attacked the rim. Had a nice dribble step back to get his shot falling. Impressive footwork to get around opposing forwards in the post and a nice touch off the glass to score it. Has great awareness on both offense and defense. Crashes the boards with purpose and plays with passion. Quick trigger who pulls it with confidence. Has a very nice floater he shoots over opponents in the paint that he knocks down consistently. Sanchez has a lengthy wingspan that allows him to be an effective shot blocker and contested shots very well on the defensive side. Can rebound well and score the second chance buckets pretty quickly. He has and strong motor and was extremely coachable during the skills session. Very skilled handle and has an explosive step. Strong defender who can move laterally very well keeping his defender from advancing the ball. Shot a very high percentage mid-range jumper and elevated nicely. Quick to grab the loose ball and head the other way. Great vision and reacted quickly. Kage plays with a chip on his shoulder. He consistently found ways to be effective and impact the game. Terrific movement off the ball constantly moving looking to make a play. With the ball he is a threat. Very quick speed and a skilled handle. Gets his paint touches and will play through the tough contact. Made the hustle plays. On the defensive end he didn't make anything easy for his opponents.&nbsp;Moves laterally very well and has some explosiveness to his steps. Very disruptive. A guard who can get into the paint and do some damage whether scoring it through contact or crashing the board. Butler hustles every possession and impacts at a high level.
