Prep Hoops VA Expo: First Team

The Prep Hoops VA Expo took place in Williamsburg Sunday, bringing together players from all over the state to compete with one another and get exposure from the Prep Hoops staff. Here's a look at the six players we selected for First Team All Expo!    The MVP of the event goes to Coston, who made a name for himself for sure this weekend, as a 2029 prospect to keep an eye on and one that we should definitely be tracking over the next few years. It was evident from the beginning that he was one of the younger players at the camp, but once he settled in he showed a ton of raw talent and huge upside moving forward that is super intriguing. At 6'8” with long arms he used his length to get on the rim and protect the rim defensively, he showed the ability to step out and knock down shots, he is decent handling the ball and getting to the rim, he played with a great motor even in a camp setting, and as I said before he's nowhere near a finished product and is still just figuring it out.     Narcisse was another guy who was a little slow to get things started, but by the end of the first game he got it going big time scoring 11 of the final 13 points for his in just under a 4 minute stretch, including one of the crazier half court heaves I've seen live. The 6'1” lead guard showed how tough a cover he was as he was shifty and played with good change of pace and direction, he was unselfish making the right read often and making plays for others, he had great footwork as a finisher in traffic, and he scored the ball from all three levels as well.     One of the more gifted athletes at the event, Brooks was one of the top scorers at the camp as he was very aggressive looking to push in transition or get to the room where he had several highlight worthy finishes. The 6'3” shooting guard is strong when he gets to the rim and finished well through contact, he played above the rim in transition and had some athletic defensive plays as well, he made shots from all over playing on and off the ball, and he showed a competitive chip that sometimes gets lost in a camp setting.     Bryant was everything you want to see in a player in a camp setting, as he treated every rep and every touch as if it meant something, and he played the right way impacting the game in a lot of different ways. The 5'10” guard was as active as they come particularly on the defensive end as he flew around to get deflections and sat down to guard the ball, he was lightning quick off the bounce and pushed in transition to make plays for himself and others, he shot the ball very well particularly when coming off ball screens, and he made good reads and kept his teammates involved as well.     Williams was perhaps the most consistent guard in the building, as he showed early in 3-on-3 and all the way through 5-on-5 that he was going to bring it on both ends and make an impact wherever he could. The 6'0” lefty is quick and shifty off the bounce as he broke down defenders to get in the lane and collapse the defense, he made shots from all three levels working on and off the ball, he made great reads and found his teammates for easy buckets throughout the day, and he brought it defensively where he played with energy and took pride in it as well.     Terry is one of the more intriguing young prospects you will find in Roanoke, and he will only continue to improve with time and reps, and he showed that as he got better and better throughout the camp. At 6'4” he has good positional size and is an above average athlete who is likely still growing, he thrived in transition with his ability to get on the rim or use his size when he got downhill, he shot the ball well on kick-outs, and his perimeter skillset along with his frame and athleticism makes him very intriguing moving forward.
