Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase | Team 4 Evals

There are many great days across the busy Indiana High School Basketball schedule. However, few compare to our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. On Sunday, September 6th at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club we hosted nearly 250 of the best underclassmen in the state. Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting individual evaluations of every prospect in attendance, highlighting top performers, introducing new names, and much more. Here are the prospect evaluations for Team 4 from the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

***As you can imagine, with nearly 250 prospects, we are bound to miss someone. If your team's evaluation article gets posted and you were NOT included please connect with Brandon Ramsey on Twitter or via email at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com and he will take care of the mistake.***

Quick left handed guard out of Merrillville that played with a lot of confidence at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase. [player_tooltip player_id='3664519' first='Matteo' last='Mallory'] out of Evansville Mater Dei is a smooth playmaking guard that does a good job balancing his scoring and facilitating. Guard that plays at his own pace and reads defenses well off the dribble creating looks for teammates. Confident scorer in the midrange that shoots it with a soft touch. Also plays with good balance and absorbs contact on his drives.

Really confident shooter out of Carmel that was really fun to watch off the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='3587076' first='John' last='Jackson Jr.'] was really good defensively with active hands and his aggressiveness in passing lanes as well as on the boards. Physical frame that played at his own pace and was able to get by his man. Did a good job reading the defenses and not over dribbling on his drives. Showed he can bang down low with his frame and rebound with the best of him. Energetic prospect that is an intriguing piece in Southwest Indiana.

Intriguing Big Man out of Paolo that plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='2869051' first='Owen' last='Sullivan'] is a 6'6” Forward that controls the paint with his length, size, and physicality. He's a fluid athlete that can do a lot of different things on the floor. Really good as the roller in the pick and roll game with good hands and footwork that showed he can score with either hand consistently. Really nice big man prospect that has the chance to impact the varsity game sooner rather than later.

Bardstown, Kentucky Native Braylon Hayes made his way up to the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcased and dispayed some really intriguing skills on both ends of the floor to make him a potential impact player down the road. Really liked the way he read the ball off the rim making him an excellent rebounder from the guard spot. Offensively, he handled it well and really shot the ball well in front of me during the 3v3 portion of camp. Was extremely aggressive on the defensive end with trying to get steals. He's a longer prospect that despite being just 6'0” he is capable of guarding multiple positions.
