We've entered the part of the calendar where prospects of the senior have either completed a couple of official visits or are in the process of locking down dates for the months of September and October. The No. 3 ranked prospect in our 2027 rankings, [player_tooltip player_id='2353562' first='Ian' last='Condon'], is fresh off his first official visit of the late summer/fall where he visited NC State. Condon took some time with us to talk about his time in Raleigh. "Overall the visit was very nice," Condon told Prep Hoops Maryland. I really enjoyed my time being in Raleigh with the staff. I got to talk to and meet a lot of people who were really nice to me." Condon had been on other college campuses in the past, including a visit he took to Villanova during the season last winter, but as many know, official visits during prospect's senior season offer plenty to like. "Choosing one specific part of the visit as my favorite is tough, but I would have to go with the facilities and resources they have. The gym, weight room, training room, food, coaching staff, everything was just so high level." The Wolfpack are heading into its first season with new head coach Justin Gainey. Gainey has been at Tennessee since 2021 before taking over at his alma mater where he looks to bring NC State back to ACC prominence. The staff took a liking to Condon this spring, where he became one of the more intriguing hybrid forwards on the EYBL Circuit playing for [program_tooltip program_id='2076999' first='Team' last='Melo']. "I have a pretty good relationship with Coach Gainey and the rest of the staff. I've been talking with them for a while since they started recruiting me after the EYBL session in Memphis. During Peach Jam, they'd send me scouting reports as a staff both of my game and others. That was just amazing to see how they digest the game and evaluate players." The progressions that Condon has shown over the past year in his game has been nothing short of impressive, but it's his ability to convert from the perimeter as well as provide a physical presence inside that began to generate legitimate P5 attention. "The biggest way they see me fitting into their system is with my veratility. Being able to play out on the wing and shoot, but also being able to use my size down low." Condon connected on over 40 percent of his triples in EYBL play on a healthy volume of attempts per game. His physicality comes to light battling against bigs in the paint and while Condon stands 6'6"-6'7", his base is strong enough to maintain leverage against the 6'10"+ bigs. Looking ahead, the Sidwell Friends product will take two more official visits starting with Georgia Tech and Boston College to follow.
