There are always a few names each year in recruiting that are able to bolster their status and really put themselves in a situation where they have plenty of options. Kerrigan definitely fits that mold, as his recruiting has been on a tear throughout the spring and summer, with a number of strong programs extending opportunities or showing interest. Oral Roberts, Colgate, Harding, Washburn, Vermont, UMKC, MSU Denver, Northwest Missouri State, and Rockhurst were all in the mix for the 6'6" forward out of Shawnee Mission South, but he has ultimately committed to play for Indiana State and compete in the tough Missouri Valley Conference.

His recruiting really heated up this spring and summer thanks to what he was able to do on the UAA circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='2078454' first='KC' last='Run GMC']. He was no doubt the most versatile piece on a loaded team with a lot of talent. Conor was a positionless piece for the squad on both ends of the floor, playing with good feel and IQ while also bringing more strength and tenacity than you would expect for someone with his frame. He helped lead Run GMC to a 15-4 overall record on the circuit, putting together impressive averages of 10.6 PPG and 5.8 RPG while shooting 48% from the field and 43% from three-point range.

He's a do-it-all type of guy who really brings whatever it takes to win. He can be efficient as a screener or dribble-handoff man, making great decisions in space and showing good vision as a passer, but he can also score on his own when needed. His ability to catch and shoot, particularly with range, was eye-opening this summer, and he's always been known as a strong finisher around the basket off two feet.

He was one of the better rebounders I saw in person over the summer with the way he pursued the ball off the rim and fought for position on the interior against other players. He uses that same IQ defensively to defend different positions and understand angles, while also diving on the floor after 50/50 balls and forcing both deflections and turnovers.

It's worth mentioning that he's just a winner. He's also been the face of a Shawnee Mission South program that has been extremely successful over the past two seasons, posting an overall record of 42-4 over that span while consistently playing against some of the state's best in the Sunflower League. I expect more of the same this winter from the Raiders, with Kerrigan leading the way. He could finally help push Shawnee Mission South over the top, with a chance to capture that elusive state title this winter.

The Sycamores are getting a guy who is ahead of the curve mentally and will work hard to grow and improve, doing whatever is asked of him. I can definitely see Kerrigan getting into the rotation early at Indiana State, especially if he can continue to embrace doing the little things and carve out an early role by filling the void that a typical glue guy would.
