Iron 8 Fall League: Back Court Watch Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Iron 8 Fall League has provided a great early look at some of the top backcourt talent heading into the upcoming high school season. Through the first few weeks, the league has featured competitive games, tough matchups, and guards who have stood out with their ability to score, create for others, defend, and control the pace of the game. While there is still plenty of basketball left to be played, several guards have already caught my attention with their production, toughness, basketball IQ, and overall impact on winning. An athletic shooting guard who can play the small forward position, Wilkinson is a complete player who defends, facilitates, rebounds, and can score from all three levels. He thrives in transition on both ends of the floor. He will be one of the reasons why the new Hillcrest Regional team is successful in their inaugural season in the Canyon Athletic Association. He had a few electric dunks and made some big plays in both games I evaluated him. He is one of the best sleeper prospects in the 2028 class to wake up a lot of people because of his ability to make his team better, scoring and playmaking ability on both ends of the floor. He is long and athletic which translates to the college level. Samuel has sneaky bounce which propelled him to having a wonderful poster dunk in week 1. Defensively, he utilizes his length, quickness, and athletic ability to disrupt passing lanes, rebound, and block shots. He has a high basketball IQ which helps lead and control his team's offensive rhythm. Another kid that has a high ceiling where his best basketball is ahead of him.
