Fall Prospect Takeaways: Bishop McGuinness

<p>This past Wednesday we made it out for Bishop McGuinness' open gym. Heading into year twenty-two for Coach Josh Thompson his squad has been the model of consistency these past five years. Winning twenty plus games since the 21-22 season and making it to the Elite Eight of their respective classification every year for the past four seasons. The Villains should continue their run as one of the most consistent programs in North Carolina and will have another group that should be in the mix come February. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Veteran Leadership</h2>   <p>The Villains will be led by a strong core group of seniors with many of them having played meaningful minutes for them these past four seasons.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Short is your ideal point guard you would want for your team. He creates paint touches, makes plays for his teammates but also a willing and capable scorer. Can create on all three levels and plays at a good pace. He is a tough competitot that will help lead the charge for this group.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Bryce is a big physical wing that attacks downhill and finshes athletically at the rim. He can knockdown shots from outside and causes a ton of mismatch problems offensively. Defensively the versatility and size causes a ton of problems for the opposition. Chapman continues to show a ton of upside as a collegiate prospect.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Hawley is a sneaky athletic guard that has showed steady improvement as a playmaker and creator for himself. Already a knockdown shooter improvement will be a vital piece scoring piece for them.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Wall is your ideal a glue-guy who plays hard and makes a impact on both ends whether it shows in the box score or not. He can score when needed, shoots the ball well and provides whatever the staff needs out of him.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Garrido does not wow you with his overall talent but simply makes winning plays. A player that can get you six to eight just off pure hustle. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Talented Underclassmen</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Although not here due to football Chavis is a player the staff spoke highly on. A fearless guard that can knockdown shots and makes good decisions. Had a strong summer AAU season with Awigg Elite look for him to continue to expand his all around game. Chavis is a name to continue to monitor in the coming years.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Fradin had a really good summer with the [program_tooltip program_id='2078512' first='NC' last='Spartans'] this AAU season and continued that momentum into team camps. An athletic guard that showed to be a real offensive weapon, can knockdown shots and looks to attack the rim aggressively. Defensively posseses intriguing upside with his length and versatility.</p>
