Fall Ball in Prescott: Standout Performers Pt 2

On Saturday september 12th I was able to take a trip up to Prescott to catch a few games. Games where held at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and featured some nice talent from across the valley. The event featured teams from 6A-2A and provided great matchups all evening. Marcus is a legit rim protector that has taken another step in his game. Defensively he will be one of the best in the AIA at contesting or blocking shots. He can switch well on guards and has solid lateral quickness for his size. He has taken another step on the offensive end with an improved handle and outside shot. He took the ball coast to coast multiple times for easy dunks. He was able to hit the three off the catch and the dribble. He continues to prove that he is a matchup nightmare to almost every team he plays. Marcus is in for another big year at Mountain Pointe. Kellan might be a new name to some as this is his first year playing varsity. He has legit size with a nice set of skills that will turn heads quickly. He hit multiple three's off the catch and will shoot when the defender sags off. He has a real soft touch that makes his jumper and finishing around the rim very effective. He is a great screen setter that allows other to get open. Kellan has a great IQ for his age and will continue to make a name for himself over the next few years. Justice is a young and athletic wing that has begun to take the next step. He was getting a lot of easy buckets at the rim by cutting or putbacks on rebounds. He is a plus athlete with a great motor and overall work ethic. He provides good floor spacing on the wing and will punish his defenders from beyond the arc when they over help. What makes his so effective is his ability to play off ball most of his points came from assist or rebounds making him a great fit next to fellow 2029 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2759173' first='Jordan' last='Cruz']. He is one to look out for over the next few years. Caden is another newcomer to the varsity scene that will gain recognition quickly. He is a star in his role and will do a lot of the little things that often get looked over. He is a great slasher and had multiple points off of flashing to the middle and hitting a little jumper. He is a pest on the boards and will rack up rebounds on both ends of the floor. He thrives on the defensive end and is very versatile. He was able to pick guards up full court getting multiple steals leading to fast break buckets. He was also able to guards post with his athleticism and work ethic. Caden will big a great piece to a elite Mountain Pointe team. Elijah is the definition of relentless. his bread and butter is on the defensive end where he creates havoc for opposing guards. He takes away there space and will bump and beat them to their spots. He has amazing hands and will get multiple deflections and steals throughout the game. He is no slouch on offense and will use his shiffiness and speed to blow by defenders. He finishes well through contact and will invite it to use defenders for and-1 finishes. Elijah recently picked up an offer from Embry-Riddle. Jase is one of the best athletes in the state and knows how to use it when needed. He was able to get to the bucket at will and finish strong through contact or attack the bucket for a nasty dunk. He thrives in the open floor and is a lob threat on the break. He has a nice looking jumper and can hit the three off the catch. Jase is a tough defender and even had a nasty block off the backboard on a fast break. I expect Jase to start getting more interest from the next level.
