[player_tooltip player_id='2124533' first='Marlin' last='Johnson'] continued to show up and improve throughout the summer, locking in on the details as he prepares to step into the point guard role for John Curtis. Replacing a veteran floor leader is never easy, but Johnson has the basketball IQ, maturity, experience, and skill set to guide the Patriots in their pursuit of another championship. He is a do-it-all guard with the tools to succeed at the next level. His ability to control the game under pressure and make efficient reads on a loaded roster will be especially valuable. John Curtis enters the season as the reigning Division I Select champion, but there will be no shortage of challengers looking to take the crown. Expect Johnson to serve as the lead facilitator and playmaker for the Patriots.

JaTravion Bunnery returns as one of the state's top wings when healthy. He is a long, athletic player with a strong wingspan and excellent instincts around the rim. Bunnery runs the floor well, finishes above or through contact, and provides a consistent presence in the paint. His production will be a major factor for Bossier, which has a loaded roster of lead options and complementary pieces. With Bunnery back in the lineup, Bossier has the potential to be one of the state's top teams and a difficult matchup for anyone on its schedule.

[player_tooltip player_id='3622712' first='Delvin' last='Jordan'] could become one of Karr's most important pieces in its push to return to the Top 28. He is a high-production, low-maintenance player who consistently does the little things that contribute to winning. Jordan can get a bucket when his team needs one, but he is equally capable of shifting his focus to the defensive end and taking on the opponent's best player. He has the size and versatility to guard positions one through three, along with the motor to disrupt bigger players inside. Jordan has a major opportunity this season to expand both his on-court impact and his recruiting profile.

Carlos Levingston enters his senior season following another productive summer, looking to put together everything he has learned throughout his high school career. Levingston is a confident guard whose game is built on poise. He rarely looks rushed or out of control and brings the same focus to the defensive end that he does offensively. His ability to remain aggressive as a scorer while balancing his responsibilities on both ends of the floor could be the key to unlocking St. Michael's Top 28 aspirations. The Warriors will rely heavily on Levingston, but he has the skills, composure, and toughness to meet the challenge.

[player_tooltip player_id='2888725' first='Jude' last='Chamberlain'] will anchor the middle for Catholic High of Baton Rouge. His steady style of play and consistent production, combined with Catholic's group of electric guards, could help the Bears make a push back toward championship contention. Chamberlain is a high-IQ post player who understands his role and plays with a high motor. Few post players in the state can match his combination of size, agility, footwork, and energy. Those traits will be critical to Catholic's success this season. While football may be in his long-term future, Chamberlain's basketball ability will be a major asset for the Bears this year.
